Odd Temperature readings from my i5 2500k

Maayung adlaw sa inyo, ako si Gilbert taga Butuan City. New guy ko dri sa forums as you can see this is my first post pa. I just recently bought myself a new Mobo & Processor. My old ones were an XFX mi-xg31-ch79 & an Intel Dual Core E2140. Karun akung gi gamit is Intel DH61WW & i5 2500k. Mao ni akung current specs.

i5 2500k @ 3.30GHz
Intel DH61WW
4 Gigs Kingston ram (1 Ram stick)
650 Samsung HDD
9500GT (2years nani sa ako)

Karun ang problema is I'm getting odd temperature readings from my processor. Ang gamit nako na heatsink is ang stock heatsink. Idle temp is 40c tapus kung mag dula ko ug BattleField3 temps go for a whooping 65-69c. Nabalaka ko murag dili man cgru ni siya normal. Gi try nako ug stress test using Prime95 mi saka ug 72c pag naka max load siya. Ang gamit nako pag monitor sa temperatures kay Speedfan, Core Temp & CPU-Z. Ok rani siya na mga temps? Sa mga i5 2500k users diha pila inyung idle & max load temps? Na balaka man ko uy. Being a tech geek dili ko ka tulog sige huna-huna haha.

rehas sah akoa... idle temp naku is 34c - 38c ....

or maybe wa na tarong taud ang hsf..

or maybe sah imong thermal paste

Inadequate thermal compound, insufficient cooling, lemon processor, defective thermal sensor - might be any of these.

-try reseating heatsink and apply fresh coat ug premium paste
-try removing sidepanels and see if temps improves(poor cooling?)

suwayi lang ug reseat imong processor Boss, then ilisi ug thermal paste. limpyohi sa na imong heatsink before mag apply ug new thermal paste

1. stock heatsink ra imong gamit (kung nka after market hsf pa na, aws dili na na normal)
2. cpu ventilation (usba gani monitor this time while nka open ang side panel dba mo drop na down to 3-5C)
3. room temperature (kung dili aircon imong kwarto aws dili nka mahibong, labi na kung naa lang ka sa kwarto nag tuyok2x ra na iyang intake og exhaust sa imong cpu, ablihi imong bintana ipa duol imong cpu didto or dba try sa sa sala)

Salamat kaau sa inyung mga reply. Ako e pang try unya pag maka uli nako sa house inyung mga suggestions. Ok ra tangalun unya e taod ug utro ang heatsink dayun dili alisdan ang thermal paste? Problem is wala kuy thermal compoud ready dri tapus lisud kaau mangita ug ingun ana diri sa amo-a. ok ra ba tangalun unya e balik ra diritsu?

Ka lami e palit ug aftermarket heatsink uy kaso wala jud kuy ma kit-an diri sa amo.

dili ok. kung ma exposed og dugay ang thermal paste kay tendency ana mo gahi na cya. kung sa rugby pa mo hupas, pero dili jud ingon diha2x, mas mo less lang iyang life span compared atong wala na exposed og dugay sa open..

kung wala ka spare na thermal paste den ayaw lang sa i reseat, sa sunod nlng. besides rare ra kaayo na nga masayop ka og taud sa stock nga hsf kay sukod man jud kaayo na cya sa mobo, mas masayop pka og taud sa mga aftermarket tungod sa kadaghan sa iyang bracket og imong i adjust2x..

for the mean time i consider lang sa ang recommendation sa ventilation, or if naa ka extra 300-500 drop by didto sa GI naa mga branded na thermal paste didto..

normal rna boss. remember, ur just using the intel stock heatsink so dont expect too much from it.

i5-2500k user jpun ko and using stock heatsink pud. so same ra ta ug situation.

i was using a coolermaster v8 cooler before and load temps around 54c-56c on prime95.

but ryt now, mine loads around 69c-72c on prime95 since stock nlang gamit nako.

u can cool it down a bit by simply undervolting the vcore or buying an aftermarket cooler.

so, no need to worry. cheers!
