Globe Wimax - Is it still worthy?

Globe Wimax is new to Malapascua. I've read reviews on it but it's way back year 2009. I didn't find any new reviews as of now.

I just want to know for Globe Wimax Subscribers located in Cebu or if there's someone located at Daanbantayan Cebu, was it worth it?


Our company is a smartbro subscriber. We are paying Php 6, 000.00/month for a range of 64KBps to 512KBps of internet speed and we don't have any back-up ISP.


If it is still worthy to be a Globe Wimax Subscriber, I will not hesitate to discuss this to my boss as our back-up ISP incase our 1st ISP is down.

@ThreadStarter: Company is using a Corporate Account and a Static IP from SmartBro. As far as I know it is expensive because of this. We need a stable connection so the company decided for a corporate account and a Static IP.

We cannot also apply for a wired connection like PLDT because we are in a remote area. This is the first time Globe Wimax enters Malapascua Island, that's why I ask comments or suggestion about it so that I can also inform my boss if Globe Wimax is worthy or not.

hmmm.. murag dili mani mao bro.. kay ang among plan ngari si plan 4K which is a Corporate Line (Small Biz) Static IP w/ 4Mbps nga Speed.. tsk tsk.. better call the authorities about your situation... Globe Wimax is a bad idea.. we have a satellite branch in balamban and it uses Wimax for communication in our offices here in cebu and lapu-lapu but the service is really annoying, it DC every now and then.

@OT. (Globe) Ug ma visit naka sa ilang tech, ma ulian lang kalit, kusug pa kaau inig speedtest, pero

Wala tingali competensya ang PLDT sa ilang lugar mao mahal ang ilang internet connection. If company bro, i will go for wired internet connection from ISP. Wimax was using wireless signal, so dili kaau cya reliable, pang back.up ceguro ok rah. Pero mahal ra jud inyong existing plan bro compare here sa Cebu.
