    1. Unsaon pag install ug terminal server...... makita nimo diri ang site:

    http://www.windowsnetworking.com/art...ces_Part1.html

    2. nag minimize mn gud me sa mga software License like sa officexp autocad, nya amo buhaton usa ra ka unit amo instolan nya ig login sa mga users makita ra nila ang mga gi pang install nga mga application.

    However, having a Microsoft terminal server will not suffice with your problem. MS Terminal Server does have also a licensed issue. It depends how many is the CAL that you are buying... example if you have 5 Cals for yout terminal server then, it only caters 5 users can login at the server at the same time.... Perhaps, you need another solution such as LTSP or equivalent from Microsoft.....

    CAL - Client Access License

    Yes, you are right about the expiration, usually its only 100 days lang then you have to purchase license for that one. Now if you want other softy for the replacement of the Terminal Server, you can use naman the VPN, are you using windows server 2003?

    Daghan man bay, pero as what you wrote sa imo post, nagminimize man kaha mo sa cost sa software's then using VPN is also one way to connect to your server withouth having to use CAL.

    Majormiles,

    Is it VPN as in Virtual Private Network? If my assumption is correct then it does not also conformed with what he has needed. Basically, a VPN is a private network that uses a public network (usually the internet) to connect remote sites or users together. Instead of using a dedicated, real-world connection such as leased line, a VPN uses "virtual" connections routed throught the internet from the company's private network to the remote site or employee. Give you an example, let say mactan island and cebu island. There are to ways aron makatabok ka sa duha ka island vice versa either by boat(mactan channel) or jeep (mactan bridge). If mag ride ka'g boat or jeep makita ka sa public nga nagsakay. How wud u pass in both islands nga dili ka makita tingali the possible answer is thru submarine.. dili jud ka makita nga nagpaingon ka ba sa cebu or mactan kay naa gud ka sa ilawom pwera lang imong sawmon ngadto.. .. Bitaw, logically.. ang bridge og boat mao na ang wire then ang submarine mao na ang virtual network public siya pero dili makita kay naka encrpyt baga... logically ming-agi ka ug tunnel, so low cost compare to leased line. Mao na siya ang services sa VPN. N'ya mag VPN diay ka nga naa man ka mismo sa sulod sa private network...

    JunaxM,

    There is what we call in linux computing services as LTSP....(linux terminal server protocol).. it is known as back-to-the-future technology, remember before wala pa ang PC or Desktop computer... di ba, mainframe pa man to then dunay mga terminal clients sa end kung ibalik ninyo inyong Computer Science history.... the idea here is that services are taken from the main server bsan wala pay hard disk imong workstation as long naa lang pxe booting / network booting. Si LTSP na ang bahala mo load sa OS.. kung unsay naa kang LTSP server mao sab ang naa sa client. It can even work 486 machine minimally..try to read on these links www.ltsp.org...

    Then, as we all know linux is a free software... As far as i know, ubuntu community had launched their latest LTSP version.. download lang bai kay free rah... Once you have linux.. install VMWare server... it is equivalent to MS Virtual PC.... the difference here is that VMWare Server modagan ug Windows XP bsan pa ug Windows 2003 Server. Once installed... you can install Microsoft OS compatible like ACAD sa imo VMWare Server. Then, all goes bang... if imo tanawon kung successful imo experiment sa imo client machine naay magdagan nga linux... aron makadagan ang ACAD imo accesson ang vmware then select nimo ang windows xp..then... acad... solbad licensya....... research lang na bai interesting na kaau.....

    @guy_ripper

    You are correct in your explanation, I was not able to read the post or maybe understood that he was referring to accesing within his private network.

    @JunaxM

    I misled you to my answer, sorry.

    I agree, VMWare Server is a good solution, mao sad na ako gamit karon, so far ok ra iya performance, just bare in mind to have a higher performing unit to accomodate the processing needs of these softy's.
