Is your IP address static? If it's dynamic, use DynDNS or a similar service so it will be easier for you to point to your server.

To answer your question, yes you can. Just forward port 3389 from your router to your server.

Beor is correct you must forward the port of RDC---3389 from your router 1st you must enable the remote desktop from the server..... they only ask public static ipaddress frm your isp...f you don't hve a public static.. you can register via dyndns... n also dr more free 3rd party rdc software you can use that also... ex. teamviewer/logmein etc..

I have only Dynamic connection type, Sir I already configure the 2003 firewall to allowed port 3389 to be port forwarding and I also check it to see if the port is available then it was successful, but the problem is I dont know how to connect it. Shall i use RDP? then type 192.192.192.192:3389 <--- Is this the format sir for accessing?

Thank you in advance sir for the information you provide (-:

No need to register the IP address. use Remote Desktop Connection from your client and type only the Public IP Address. ex. 222.127.242.20 . and make it sure that the user is a member of Remote Desktop Users.

    Rakstar, these are steps.

    1. In your office goto DynDNS.com: Free DNS Hosting, E-mail Delivery, and VPS Hosting
    2. Chose free dynamic dns
    3. Create a hostname (ex. rackstar.dyndns.org) then click add, in this way your hostname point your dynamic ip address. Continue to create your account.
    4. Take note you dynamic ip address using What's My IP Address? Your IP is 216.34.250.1
    5. Now ping your hostname and observed, if pointing your dynamic ip.
    6. Now download and install dyndns client updater. this will automatically update your hostname by the time
    your dynamic ip address changes.
    7. Now, in your home open RDP. Type the hostname you created and click connect. this time you can login your server using your valid account and password.

Most newer routers have a built-in DynDNS client installed. Just check your menus and set the configuration. If your router has this, there is no need to use a client updater.
