I love answering questions in the forum, helping people walk through complicated processes (like Windows installations), and telling folks what to do when, well, nothing happens at all.
But sometimes, after lots and lots of troubleshooting, you're left with no option other than to take your computer in to a repair shop for a closer look. (No, I'm not talking to those of us with eighteen almost-computers worth of spare parts in the closet!)
So how do you, the not-so-computer-expert, explain a problem, that you don't understand a thing about, to someone who probably knows how to count backwards in binary?
Don't worry - you can. You just have to describe the computer's behavior - not the underlying causes. Prepare before you go, be specific, and communicate clearly.

Anyone (computer user or computer fixer) have any more tips?
