    Default HDTV as Desktop

Im using Sharp Aquos 37inches as my lcd for my desktop. but i am having a really huge problem with the resolution settings. i wanted a huge resolution like 3500x900 or bigger but when i change it to my desired res > i get an ERROR "the screen settings you have selected is not supported"
i managed to set it to 2600 + + but still it looks the same. i dont like it - its all blurr'd up! how can i set it to finer, smaller images instead of the maximized stretch'd look? Please help me. im sure im not the only one here using Sharp Aquos, if anyone can help me or has any suggestions. il be forever thankful!

I haven't tried this on my system but I think the output of HDTVs are not the same as to a desktop monitor or LCD also I think you need a powerful video card that supports the resolution that you mentioned.

In short, you can't, you need to stick to your Aquos' native resolution (13++ x 768 ?) if you want it to look sharp. Yeah you'll get big-ass icons and text with this resolution, but HDTV's were never really built with desktop PC's in mind. You're better off getting a smaller LCD (not LCD TV's) with higher resolution support for your desktop PC and use your HDTV for HTPC / console gaming / DVD watching.

If you really want huge real estate and high resolution check out Apple's 30-inch Cinema HD, or Dell's 30-incher (there are a lot of other brands), they're hella expensive though.

the highest LCD HDTV resolution is only 1920 x 1080

your sharp aquos resolution is 1366 X 768 only

its better you get an apple 30" cinema display 2560 x 1600 pixels (optimum resolution)

    http://www.apple.com/displays/specs.html

    or a Dell 30" LCD 3007WFP 2560 x 1600
