also pondered this and researched it before... It IS possible but not very practical and not at all easy cause youll need to find a way to link the lcd panel's connection to your desktop.
morag dili man ngali bos... lahi man gud ng lcd sa laptop....direct connect to board

the answer is no. cannot be
no it cant be used as desktop screen, you cant supply 220 volts on LCD or any laptop screen, it could cause you more bigger problem brother. You can sell your laptop screen to other pc shop if you want but dont try connecting it to desktop...
yup its possible, but u nid to be somewhat like McGyver for it to work as if it was really that simple...
Dli cya pwd if you use it with your current computer.
But here's how you can use new laptop LCDs, if need nga mag recycle.
Laptop LCD uses LVDS connector. Most mini-ITX motherboard (Intel Atom or AMD APU desktop motherboards) has LVDS connectors.
sample Intel mITX
Jetway - Tech.On The Move - IPC Board - NF98-QM57-LF
sample AMD mITX
Jetway - Tech.On The Move - IPC Board - NC85-E350-LF
Take note that some models don't have this LVDS connector on the mobo. Since this connector is optional only. Manufacturer's has their own prerogative to put it or not. ( I've seen Intel Atom D410 and D510 in PC Quickbuys that don't have the LVDS connector on it). You really need to look for the physical connector on the mobo before getting one.
This is the Intel Datasheet saying that Intel Atom desktop mobo supports LVDS.
