hello there,
Congestive heart failure is a situation in which the heart cannot accurately fill blood or pump all over the body. Due to the heart attacks heart muscles became lame which causes those heart attack survivors to develop congestive heart failure. Though there are medical improvements in the field of medicine numbers of patients suffered from this sickness still increase.
A Left ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) is an apparatus attached to the heart to replace the left ventricle which is the main pumping center of the heart. The device is implanted to the chest opening and the power cord comes out from the abdomen of the patient through an incision, which needs to be plug to the batteries worn on the waist.
This device serves as a temporary treatment until a heart donor is available. This is called as their “bridge to transplant”. For those patients which this device eases the pain they called this “bridge to recovery”. For patients who have fatal condition this serves as their “destination therapy”.
Hope this can help![]()
