Compaq Netbook BSOD

A friend of mine received a Compaq Mini Netbook (brand new) from outside the country. Gipadad.an siya...

Ang problem lng is nag BSOD after ni pag update niya sa anti-virus... so dli na ka boot into windows kay mag BSOD.

Then ako gi try ug mga recovery options by pressing F8 during boot up (repair, safemode, last known good configuration.... etc). Unluckily wla ghapon ma solve ang problem kay mu reboot or mu hang-up siya after nako i select a certain option.

So, i tried installing an OS on the netbook with a flash drive because wlay external optical drive ug recovery disk ang gipadala sa netbook. Then again mag BSOD siya after na ma-load ang setup files para sa installation.

Error message sa BSOD during boot-up ug after loading the setup files for installing an OS:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Any other remedies to fix this? Any help is much appreciated

take out the hardrive , run scandisk/repair to other pc.. unsay OS imo gi butang? try replacing RAM

try to reinsert everything pwede ma reinsert like harddisk, memory etc..

what AV s/w did you try to update bro before getting this error and the BSOD? Norton or Symantec?

Ang OS na ako try gi install is Win7

Anti virus is Norton

Tried googling the error... still the remedies wont work

I'm hesitant to open the netbook because its not mine and bag.o pa kaau cya. 1 month pa and ang tag.iya dli ayo sigeg gamit sa netbook.

But I'll try to ask the owner if ok ra niya ablihan ang netbook

Try check imong RAM ug Hard Disk ana sir.... pede rana open nimo dili man totally ang tibook unit. mura ra gud nag abli ka sa imong pultahan sa balay.... ana ra jud na ka dali....

ok try nako ni... ako sa i test ang HD ug RAM sa BIOS, naa man cya option to test on these hardwares
