Intalling Windows XP to my Compaq CQ40 mag (BSOD)

I need help installing windows XP to my lappy CQ40. Everytime ako i load ang ako xp mag (BSOD) blue screen of death. Nabasa nko sa forum nga i need to use nlite sortware para mag boot cya and download the sata driver, nka download nko ug nlite pero sa sata driver dili ko kblo asa mag download.
just need your help guys.

bro, check ure model ca compaq website, check if it supports XP. some new models dont support XP anymore, only vista due to chipset limitations.

if u cant find it, check ure BIOS option, basin naay option for SATA to native IDE. if wala, limited ra ka sa vista ana.

if its the CQ40-310au model then its not XP supported, but dont worry Windows 7 RC/RTM work flawlessly with it.

Brandnew imo lappy sir? unsa preloaded na daan ang lappy ug OS? or fresh install? try to load defaults sa BIOS..Check kung naa AHCI config. kung naka enable ni basi mao ni cause sa BSOD nimo..

Bro you are referring to down grade your OS. You cannot down grade it immediately.

follow this step bro:

1. run windows vista 1st. "before you down grade windows vista."
2. delate all partition drive using windows vista. after deleting the drive restart your laptop
3. now bot it using windows xp and make it the partication of our drive.
4. make a fresh installation.
5. install all driver for windows xp.

"NOTE: Make sure to back up our files 1st and download all the drivers before you down grade your OS.
maybe some of your hardware are malfunction because it is not support windows xp. Please
check the hardware 1st if it is supported by windows xp.

so ni work na ni sa windows vista? fresh install sir ang xp? orig copy ba?

pls check kung naa ACHI na feature sa BIOS, make sure thats its not enabled.

you can check the model number at the bottom part of your lappy...

bro VonTech dili daun makaformat basta ang HDD if dili madelete nimo and drive kung asa nka install ang windows vista even it is original copy pa ang windows xp. bro trax is referring to down grade OS from windows vista to windows xp

im not sure, pede man siguro, Vista man gud ko original. then nag XP ko. maybe its a case to case, scenario, but if you try to downgrade Vista to XP while on running your vista OS, i believe it wont work..
(autorun the cd when inserted)...

What I did was boot from CD...the erase current partition. reformat HDD. thats it.

Im suggesting that TS perform a clean install.

of course huwat na lang ta sa responde ni TS....
