    Default BLUES

    Hi People

Who are your favorite Blues artists? Blues Guitar players? Blues Harp players....?

Its the most amazing sounding, feeling, BEST kind of music out there (along side Soul - and a perfect partner!).

Lets start things off on here with this new thread - for everything BLUES.

    Post away...

This topic is quite similar to an older topic: https://www.istorya.net/forums/index.php?topic=81839.0

    Anyway,

I'm a guitar player who is into jazz/rock fusion. But I must say this: For me, no other guitar playing style involves A LOT of heart when it comes to blues. Playing blues without your heart put into it is like talking without sense.

    My favorites?
    - B.B. King
    - The great SRV
    - the older Eric Clapton materials
    - the incomparable, Jimi Hendrix
    - Howlin' Wolf
    - Homesick James
    - David "Honeyboy" Edwards
    - Buddy Guy (I love how this guy interacts with the audience)
    - Jonny Lang
    - Richie Kotzen (WOW)

For me its always been about Johnnie Lee Hooker (for classic delta stuff), BB King and although he never really did a lot of Blues, Ray Charles. He's always been a big influence for me, period.

When it comes to Harp Maestro's it has to be the afore mentioned Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield (and his Blues Band), and John Popper from The Blues Traveler. That guy is amazing... plays the Harp like it was the lead guitar. Its totally retarded!!!

Anyway, SerpentBoy - looking forward to jamming with you at The Outpost on Friday night... Should be fun...
