Help thread for Strobe sets

Hello Guyz, I'd like to open this thread for members to share their Photography Strobe set
and the problems they encountered so far.

If you have better suggestions for strobe sets, please post it here.

I'll start:

Wireless Flash Trigger: YONGNUO RF-602/N (RF-602TX) FSK 2.4GHZ
Flash: Nissin Di622
Camera: D90
Lens: Sigma OS 18-200mm

Problem encountered when using my wireless flash trigger RF-602, it only fires twice then
my Di622 flash power level light runs from high level to lowest level then unexpectedly turns itself off.

can anybody enlighten me what just happened? hehehe...

Bro, Power Level diay. nag experiment ko ganina, hmmm... nag libog ko sa iyang behavior. if Aperture Priority mode ko kay mo fire ang flash if mag wait ko for 3-5 seconds every shot and if ang aperture value is F8. atleast mo fire na siya.

ang Nissin Di622 gyud noon kay dali ra mag stambay. pero so far sa akong 2 ka Nissin Di622 with my CTR301P rapid click click and click, oks man... ako nlang gi kapoy hehehehehe

thats a big common problem with nissin di622, while it has slave function(optical trigger), its poorly designed for strobing(specially using with wireless radios). even a firmware upgrade doesnt fix fully the predicament.

thats why they(nissin) came up recently with di622 mark-II to address the issue.

jay-r, here is a fix:


put an electrical tape on the contact points in your RF-602 Receiver unit leaving the center contact uncovered. you will only need the center contact point to be opened or contacted with the flash's hotshoe electronic pins since its the triggering circuit; all other contact points serve the automatic features if mounted on camera.

it surely made you saved from severely modifying the flash physically and electronically which would be quite tough to less skilled hands(related to electronics), and voids the warranty as well(if still newly bought).
