(For those not in the know: OL=online, IRL=in real life)
My boyfriend, who is also an istoryan, lets his friends IRL know his istorya user name.
I, on the other hand, wish to keep it private and secret from my friends IRL.
How about you?

i don't get it..
I mean, do you reveal to your friends in real life your online identity (example: istorya user name)
Like, I've noticed some users here use their pictures for avatar. In all the forum and message boards I've joined, my avatar has always been some anime character. Using your picture online makes people recognize you in real life, and I don't want that to happen.
Basically, I'm asking: Do you keep your online identity separate from your real life identity?
Mind if I\'ll ask what a troll is in your own understanding?
Trolling is when you intentionally post something offensive to provoke a negative reaction.
My istorya account is less than 24 hours old, so I haven't done any trolling here.
I think it's not trolling but rather flaming.
My definition of a troll is it\'s an account created by a forumer who already has an active account. In the forums where I frequent to, trolls are ban-baits. All they do is complain, whine, rage rants and whatnot. Worse, There are people who even talk to themselves by using their trolls.
Anyway, enjoy your stay and your privacy.
Hmm..copypasta from wiki:
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[2]
I think what you are referring to are sockpuppets. Have some copypasta again:
A sockpuppet is an online identity used for purposes of deception within an online community. In its earliest usage, a sockpuppet was a false identity through which a member of an Internet community speaks with or about himself or herself, pretending to be a different person,[1] like a ventriloquist manipulating a hand puppet.
because i am a spammer and a dummy in order to keep it a secret. thats all bow.
