Default P7P55D crashing with Mushkin RAM

Hey guys, it's me again with my newly built system.

If you may have read somewhere, I have an ASUS P7P55D right now. Right now, my build is as follows:
    -Asus P7P55D
    -Mushkin Essentials 2GB DDR3 1066mhz
    -Intel Core i3-530
    -Gigabyte Odin Pro 550w

Here's my problem. With that current system, it crashes almost anywhere and anytime especially a few minutes after booting. I tried using a different memory (Patriot Sector 5) and I say that the board is not the one that is causing a lot of problems lately. I also tried using the Mushkin memory into a different unit and the system crashes. There's the MemOK feature from ASUS that helps you with your memory compatibility troubles however it hasn't been able to solve stuff.

So I'm thinking about junking the memory, send it to the distributor for repair. But before I send it back, I think I'm missing something here or there could still be a way to get these parts working together without failing.

I'm not fond about setting up the correct settings for the memory to get things working up. I think this is the one that I'm missing at. Could someone give inputs about this, or should I just forget about the memory and find a different one? I have an upcoming Kingston memory but I'm still about to test it. Budget is pretty tight here and what I'm only aiming at here is to have a working system for work.

@personalmgt : Compatibility issues on your motherboard, bro?

    Try this link bro: http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_I...specifications

There is a tab second to the last a.k.a "Memory/Device Support". A pdf file which lists out supported memory brands with specific memory speeds.

set daw sa bios ang recommended voltage and timings sa memory tian..

can we have the exact specifications of the memory (like the model)?

this may be one of those early DDR3 releases which require more than 1.65 volts to run at rated speed.

    edit:

just did a quick search, this looks like it (not sure):

    996582 - 2GB (2x1GB) DDR3 PC3-8500 7-7-7-21 Essentials (Dual Kit)

let me see if i can dig up possible points of failure.

    edit 2:

well, its not listed in Asus' QVL

    edit 3:

post your BIOS version, bai. Version 1702 has the following changes:

    1. Improve memory compatibility
    2. Improve system stability

@StingerRay (and isyot as well) - thanks for the try but what i'm trying to achieve here is manually setting the voltage and timings properly in the bios as it may solve the problems im experiencing. Unfortunately, im not that really good with it.

    @polds - Here's the details:
    Mushkin Essentials 991586; PC3-10666 9-9-9 2GB

    I believe the memory is this one: Mushkin 991586 - 2GB DDR3 PC3-10666 9-9-9-24 Essentials - Specs & Reviews

BIOS is version 1807 with build date 07/22/2010 (newest BIOS right now). I flashed the newer BIOS yesterday hoping it would help but it didn't.

PS: everything in BIOS is set to auto.

its running at 1066(?), rating says 1333...

if you're up to it, give it more voltage but don't exceed 1.65 volts. basin ni degrade nana siya hence having problems at stock speeds and default voltages. auto lang usa ang latency ug frequency para dili mahimong factor sa instability.

I believe its running on 1066. I tried ramping it on 1333 pero still the same.

I'll try giving it more voltage but I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm at the AI Tweaker->DRAM Voltage right now. Is this correct? It says the current voltage is 1.556v.

i dont know how dd3 works pero akong experience sa dfi na ddr2..mamili siyag specific memory strap/divider para mu-stable..for example mag sigeg crash akong pc if 333:533 ang ratio sa akong fsb:memory, pero if 266:400 then increase ra nako to 355:533 stable kaayo maski na overclock na hinoon as opposed to 333:533.

pareho man gud siyag symptons during bootup pag load sa windows didto siya mu crash..although if i memtest ra nako (bootable) walay error na makita sa memory

    A little update here:
I manually setted the frequency to 1066mhz. Runs fine here for 5 minutes already. When I set it on auto, the memory must be running at 1333mhz. Still no changes in voltage here.

I think this is problem solved. This should be enough to get me working for a few days before I get a decent memory.

But if the memory is rated to run for 1333mhz, should I just revisit it and ramp the voltages?

PS: Thanks polds! You're a work saver!
