Computer Problems due to Bad Capacitor

Computer components including but not limited to Motherboards, Videocard, Powersupply, component boards, LCD mainboards, etc might be affected with Capacitor plague.

If your components are not working well or having problems try to check on all the capacitors. It might be the cause of these problems. Please post here if you have such problems.

here's an example: (in some cases liquid formation leaks are seen)

The higher microfarad but same voltage. e.g. 470μF 25v (busted) then replace with 1000μF 25v (the better).

ilisan na jud na trigun, dont wait for it to leak and cause damage to other parts - ok lang if mu burst then wala na liquid

yup as COMCAM jst said, dapat jud na ilisan b4 it will cause too much problems. corrosive baya ang solution anah... and u may not notice na ni lead na jd diay...

Most of the problems with these capacitors come out 1 year to 3 years after you bought it. The problem is so wide spread that it even affects power supplies, printer boards and commonly motherboards.

For solid state capacitors it's not documented to be affected with these problems.

In Changing the capacitors try to change it to the exact values as the original ones.
And do not wait for it to leak.

Cause of the failing capacitors

real solid caps may not leak maybe because the composition is organic
