speaking of power pop R.I.P di ay to Will Owsley better known in the late 90's as OWSLEY. He died 44 yrs old recently... too sad

medyo famous mani nga style during the 90s with bands like Gin Blossoms, Gigolo Aunts, Weezer, Brendan Benson, and Old 97s.

The most famous power pop song of all was the 1979 song My Sharona by The Knack hahaha. some power pop fans of that era don't like them because they're too famous until the early 90s when Kurt Cobain declared Get The Knack LP as one of his 20 favorite albums

now i like bands that borders between americana and power pop (Gin Blossoms, Redd Kross, Reckless Kelly, Crossing Tyler, etc) pero i still enjoy that pure pop of The Beatifics, Jellyfish, Fountains of Wayne (who also have some country songs thrown in), and Mike Viola (the voice behind the fictional band The Wonders' That Thing You Do)

I think the most famous name from this scene is Eric Carmen. Once the lead vocalist of The Raspberries who later formed The Eric Carmen Band who later dropped the power in his pop and went on to become "All By Myself". hihih. duha man to iya famous songs i forgot the other one. basta ballad na pang-masa to.

and of course THe Yellow Pills, Bam Balam, and Not Lame compilations are the best

daghana nimo nahibaw-an bai oi hehe... akong ganahan sa fountains of wayne kato ilang self-titled na album...nindut pud ang gin blossoms, naa raba to post diri mag concert kuno sila sa cebu karon november... pero ang ganahan jud nako bai katong mu border sa power pop na jangly na may pagka shoegazey... suwayi nya paminaw ang wannadies bai, ok pud...

yeah kanang Teenage Fanclub's first album kay medyo naa pagka shoegazy man. Pero their new album pure power pop naman

kani Wilco nindot ky they have almost everything thrown in from the americana border of Gin Blossoms on their first album to the jangly pop of Summerteeth down to the weird stuff of Yankee Foxtrot Hotel and the almost noise-rock/shoegazey sound of A Ghost is Born and the folk rock of Sky Blue Sky and their latest self titled

napaminaw na nako ang shadows bai...pro murag kinahanglan pa jud paminawn balik before maka comment jud ko tarung... akong first impression lang kay at least mas nindot pa sya sa manmade ug siguro mas munindot pa jud kung mabalik-balik na paminaw... pero lahi ra jud tong mga karaan albums nila oi, catholic education, bandwagonesque, thirteen and grand prix... bisan ang songs from northern britain and howdy ganahan ra gihapon ko...mura naman ug nagka mellow na sila, pero idol gihapon...
