Default NVIDIA's GTS 360M info released!

Disclaimer: I am not the one who wrote this article, i am just posting this from another website/forum. posting news!, i take no responsibility of this article, this topic wasn't intended to make anyone angry, upset, dissapointed, etc.
NVIDIA is at it again, they have released information on their "next-gen" mobile gpu's, the GTS 360M is yet another rebranded 260M, is not a Fermi, and does not support DX11!

Source: The NVIDIAŽ GeForceŽ GTS 360M GPU delivers premium power and enhanced performance for the demanding mobile gamer and multimedia enthusiast.

    something simple:
    1. Rename
    2. Increase Price
    3.
    4. Profit?
I hope people do read and research before buying their video cards, because if you don't then you are just being fooled

    96SP w/ a 128-bit BUS.
so... it's actually a 8800GS/9600GSO in mobile form, but being marketed as a next-generation mid-high line mobile chip?

again "fermi" --- "ferming" delayed but 260M for a notebook is awesome, imo. asa naman ang mga mobile GPUs from ati! mao to nice kay grabeh kaubos ang power consumption kung idle...

nobody said its not good, nor it sucks, its awesome yes, but your missing the point. They are rebranding the gpu's and fooling people. Many mobile gpu's ang ati

this quote should make it easier to understand:

Nvidia is playing a dangerous game here... its true the average consumer doesn't understand much, but the tech industry is extremely unforgiving. Nvidia has been able to get away with this because the G92 core can (or it rather could IMO) compete in the mid and low end level. I think those days are gone or soon closing. The consumer can't tell you the difference between a one rebranded chip or another, but they can tell when their games don't play right or look as good as when played on another card. The GT200 series is not going to be die shrinked like the 8 series, which means the only thing Nvidia is coming to bat with is the super high architecture and the super low, AKA g92; there only modular architecture so far in some three years. If the GF100 chip proves to big and too combersome to properly die shrink and modularize, what is Nvidia going to do then? Even if these rebranded cards provide adequate performance to the competition this generation, and I don't think they can anymore, they certainly won't cut it in 2011... or 2012.
If someones going to say "sucks for those consumers who don't research" then they are really missing the point lol.

I’m thinking about slapping an NVidia sticker on my toaster and calling it a new architecture as it’s about as unbelievable and misleading as this

i am not missing your point - i understand the rebranding totally but given the performance, it still is good. nvidia needs to survive and if this is their way of surviving, then so be it. for me, i'd rather see them rebrand until the next products come in than do nothing at all and go down eventually.

GTS 360M = Weaker then 8800GT, should have name it 8800GSM

At first i think its a mobile version of the GTS 240 yet their is a GTS240M lol.
Changing the number can and will fool the uninformed into thinking it is a new higher powered gpu.

Sadly this is how business works. :/

Unlike sa ATI their 5xxx series a true upgrade from the previous 4xxx series. Not just a rename.
