Tires for 2010 Autocross season???

This is a feeler lang....

We at Kartzone would like to know the thoughts from the drivers/participant about regulating tires to be used for the event.....it was suggested that we use real street tires....

Here is a list tires that we are allowing....

Yokohama AD08, AD07
Bridgstone RE01, RE01R, RE11
Federal RSR, SS, RS, EVo

The tires listed are top models of those brands in terms of grip and also the top favorites of the racers....shall we limit it to these brands which are popular here, or whats your idea.....

i go with JPN, using street legal tires will level the playing field to everyone, it will matter more on the driver's skills rather than car set-up, its will make autocross more affordable to everyone, it will encourage tuners to properly tune suspension rather than buying expensive racing tires which are ridiculously overpriced were others cant afford.

To all racers please reply regarding this matter:

A team whom I consider is a top contender is asking shall we limit the tires to the listed brands, or will we be open to similar street performance tires such as falken, toyo, hankook and otherbrands or will we stick with what we are familiar with....yokoAD07-08, bridgstone RE-01, 01R, 11, 050, 070, federal 595SS, RS, RSR....these tires have a 140 or higher treadwear rating...

My own opinion is we stick with what we are familiar with, those who were asking about other brands will most definitely import them....meaning if you were willing to import, why not just import whats on the list so nobody will feel uncomfortable loosing to a car that has a unique tire make to what most are using....

Your comments will be greatly appreciated....our goal is to make sure nobody will have an unfair advantage...


Shall I make a list or shall we just set guidlines for street tires and any brand can be used?

how about maxxis MA-Z1 and kumho ecsta boss jpn? its locally available

@bong. maxxis MA-Z1 for sure is OK kay locally available mana, but the kunho ecsta... depende sa series kay ang kadto at par sa hoosier na V700 or V710 are not locally available in the philippines.

@jpn. i think we should use tires (street) that are locally available and not being imported, if we consider import tires then mao ra gihapon ang mahitabo.

Personally mas nindot gyud nang patas... ganahan man gani ko kanang "one make race" were drivers compete on 1 car setup unya pulipulihan lang... kana kita gyud kinsay kamao mo push the car to its limit. but im sure naay uban dili gusto ani.

Bati kaayo sab nang mo daug ta, unya ang sulti sa uban "naka daug mana cya kay dako nasab na cya gasto sa iya awto". he he he... walay glory.

My personal opinion is we stick to a list of tires approved by majority, and not make it an open street tire wherein other wealthier teams can import their own tire stocks regardless of cost....it doesnt also sound good that you won using a tire that nobody else is using.....di ba

suggestion:

meeting nalang regarding tires...each team send at least 1 representative regarding tire discussion....what the majority of the teams agree upon is what we will implement....

When will we hold meeting cause daghan na cge pangutana so maka order na sila......
