Default starting a biz with nothing

nah inspired lang ko to write ani nga thread because somebody asked me... although ill not be telling the whole details.. ill give ideas on how i did it..

    dedicated to: pogi_uy

about me.. i finished managerial accounting in college.. but ididnt make it to accounting.. i consider myself a college drop-out.. in college before, interesado na jud ko negosyo.. ive been (and na victimized) with several mlm companies during that time..

im a social kind of person.. i really love to be with people.. im a member to a lot of reputable organizations (except gangs and frats).. i have many friends in there.. i also befriend their parents.. many consider me a nice and reliable guy (hey, they said it themselves).. lets just say im building my social network

im the kind of person who loves to read.. i always read sunstar everyday.. its very helpful.. i always read the business section and the classified ads.. it can tell me the trends of times.. dili ko read sports and entertainment...

now with starting businesses with nothing..

after college. i applied and got my real estate broker's license.. with many friends, it wasnt that hard to look for clients.. (yes.. i choose friends... ako friends kay naa kwarta almost tanan, and daghan pud sila ma refer nga friends nila nga naa kwarta) this is my first business..
my capital : thick face, good social network, good image, good communication skills
after that, dghan man gusto mo sideline using my license, i made them salesmen.. so i consider them irregular employees.. profit sharing pa mi that time.. now, i have my own accountant working for me, as well as a runner.. as well as 8 irregular sale supervisors.. i dont have to personally manage them.. i make sure that they can work independently.. my accountant is also my manager. so i can still do things unrelated to business (aka party2x)

my second business started a few months after i started my first biz.
i read an article in sunstar about a problem in negros about their water supply.. i also read about agriculture.. so i decided to start a water-refilling station business and a materials recovery(junk shop)/composting bizness.. i consider it as one business because its under one management although different sets of employees.. one person manages both at the same time.. i let my accountant do all the audits..
my capital: research and thick face
this biz is not mine alone.. i have several partners. what i did was to ask from them capital.. my equity is my offer to be the managing partner.. maybe my proposals and presentations were good enough that they saw that this was a good oppurtunity and easy money for them.. currently, i have 5 workers under payroll there. naa pud mi irregulars

my third business: this is quite new.. only two years old..
its a hauling business.. transporting of goods from place to place within cebu.. now before you ask how i got my hands on the trucks..
my capital: thick face, social networks, and imagination and GUTs
i got the trucks thru 5-6 schemes.. naa ko friend chinese who has spare surplus trucks nga wala gigamit.. i got a mechanic to check which of those trucks are ok. i offered him to purchase the trucks thru a rent to own basis.. if dili ko mka bayad. kuhaon nya balik ang trucks with all improvements and repairs and TY tanan ako na pay so far.. wala ko gi colateral.. but on this business, i also got a managing partner.. cya mo run sa biz but naa ko part sa profit... under our payroll, naa mi 3 drivers, 1 mechanic. and 1 checker.. bago lang naa mi na acquire 2 jeepneys which amo gipa rentahan.. which adds another irregulars

all my business are independent with each other.. although taas jud ako overhead kay dili man ako ang nag manage personally.. pero ok na pud oi.. magdawat nalang gud ko kwarta... so karon mka laag2x ko and mka party2x ko...

right now, naa ko friend nga gi train.. very promising kaau.. he is more into cosntruction and brokerage, kamao pud nga bata, he owns some businesses na pud.. we already ventured on some construction works bago lang..

hmm.. maybe nindut cguro ng venture capitalist nga biz.. mao na pud na ako gi research karon

to end this kay murag taas2x na.. the most important trait is: THICK FACE, IMAGINATION, and GUTS, HONESTY, good communication skill.. wa pa nako gi share ang mga probs ako na encounter.. its the GUTS that helped us made it thru.. the most important skill is : RAISING CAPITAL USING OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY and SALESTALK

p.s. about debt2x, ayaw kahadlok.. basta kamao ka sa imu gihimo. its alright..
(pls feel free to comment on this)

whatever failures you encounter treat it as a learning experience and never give up.. remember that business is a risk never let failure bring you down... that is what i am learning now and its hard..hopefully i can get through this...

share lang pud ko sa akoa small time business, i have been working for 10yrs even until now, pero i have notice na wala man gyud koy asenso puro ra man daily needs ma provide. igo ra maka abot ang imo sweldo sa sunod napud sweldo..its a tiring and frustrating process..

Neophyte pa ko sa negosyo/sideline but i am optimistic na i can be successful because of the product i am selling and the guts that i have and my greatest motivation, my family.. ... HTH...
