i remember with windows XP i can highlight several folders in windows explorer and just press windowskey+f or right click then select search and i can search files/filetypes from those folders only and its subfolders.
is there any way i can do that same thing in vista.
coz in vista when i press windowskey+f it opens a new search window but it searches the whole machine or i can click on advance search then i can select the drive and/or i can go deeper and select specific folders to run the search on which takes so much time and hassle each time i need to run search in specific folders. under vista windows explorer, right click doesnt offer search anymore.
i know with vista explorer can search folders that are in current view of the explorer window. but what if i want to exclude few of the folders, it dont know how. also if i use the search current view, i lose my place in the explorer window. meaning i have to look for the folder i was working on coz the window changes to the search results, or worst i have to open a new explorer window and find the folder i was working on. is there a way that when i run a search of current view, a new window opens with the search result instead.
