This aborted movie project of Microsoft is getting new life with the involvement of no less than Steven Spielberg himself. The fact that Peter Jackson (who was once named as Executive Producer for Halo) admitted that nothing pushed through, it only makes sense that someone else takes over.

If Spielberg gets the film, he could direct-produce it entirely, OR he might work strictly as an executive producer and then hire someone else to direct it.
If he will work stricly as a producer, let's hope he does not hire Michael Bay to direct Halo.
