well it seems your answered yourself already...clearly its not the cable since gireplacan naman. its not your phone since you tried other units.
from what your describing, its your pc that has a problem like you said ir doesnt work either...
format mo nalang yan and reinstall everything clean...

I have a problem with CA-42 for 6080, it won't detect my phone on pc. Have replaced cable from the seller, still the same. I have tried other unit though with the same cable but still won't detect phone on pc. Is it my phone or the cable itself?

I also have checked from the nokia website that I have the correct cable used for the unit.

Does it usually show on the phone screen that you have connected a usb cable(like that of headset)?

I really want to connect my 6080 phone to my pc thru usb, coz I'm having problem with my IR on PC.

Please help fellow istoryans....

you should have a pc suite install in your pc.
