Students group: ISAFP spying on leaders

The National Union of Students of the Philippines said the military is closely monitoring student leaders and student council officers as part of "Oplan Bantay Laya," ANC reported Friday.

NUSP president Marco de los Reyes said the intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines is conniving with the Office of the Student Affairs of universities to get the dossier of student organizations, their members and officers.

De los Reyes said the military is even using their fellow students to spy on them.

De los Reyes urged university officials to protect their students instead of cooperating with the military.

ABS-CBN tried to get the side of the AFP but military spokesman Brig. Gen. Jose Angel Honrado has chosen not to comment on the issue

Two slain in latest attack on leftists

Gunmen shot dead a member of a leftist group and a school principal in the latest attack on activists, a police report said Friday.
Rafael Bangit, a member of the Bayan (New Nationalist Alliance) group and high school principal Gloria Odnik were shot dead by hooded gunmen as they were about to board a bus in Echague, Isabela, police said.

It was unclear if one of the two was the target and the other was hit by accident.

Leftist groups charge that at least 93 of their members have been killed in attacks since Gloria Arroyo became president in 2001 and they have largely blamed her administration for the killings.

I think the Opposition, NPA's, Protesters, Korakots, Terrorist (MILF, MNLF, Abu Sayaff etc) and Chinese businessmen/women are the facists. The Arroyo government is doing fine.

but kng ang police/military mamatay ang iya kauban mangita jud tanan paagi para madakpan ang gabuhat.

Why are the leftists and communists opposing Charter change? Because they know that a federal parliamentary system will be catalystic to progress in the countryside, which will defeat their agenda of keeping the country in poverty, so they can continue to deceive poor people. A country with a backward economy is a breeding ground for coups, as history has shown.
