ONE OF THE PECULIARITIES of modern life is that people violently disagree over religious beliefs and then go on to lead similar lives. Nietzsche's famous remark that God is dead should be changed to God is optional. If the government keep round-the-clock surveillance on those who felt that they were abiding by divine law and those who never gave a thought about God's rule book, I imagine the sum total of virtue and vice, love and hate, peace and violence, would look exactly the same. If anything, the balance of intolerance and lovelessness would probably tilt toward the most loudly religious people in any society.

I'm not mentioning this to be contentious. Rather it's as if the universe has a sense of humor, since at a deep level it's impossible NOT to lead a spiritual life. You and I are as deeply engaged in making a world as a saint. You can't be fired from the job of creating a world, which is the essence of spirituality. And you can't resign from the job even when you refuse to show up. The universe is living through you at this moment. With or without belief in GOD, the chain of events leading from silent awareness to physical reality remains intact. The operating system of the universe applies to everyone alike, and it works along principles that do not require your cooperation.

However, if you decide to lead a consciously spiritual life, a change occurs. The principles of the operating system, which means the rules of creation, become personal.

Atheists are spiritual beings who are here to challenge the theists. So, that is their purpose and it is no accident. Isn't it?
Everything that atheists do are either working for the better or worse. At this point in time they still cling to their philosophy which makes them comfortable even if there is some resistance of this GOD concept. For me, that is still spiritual. I am also challenging all the atheists to recognize this spiritual dimension that they are in. They cannot escape this for they are spiritual beings having a human experience too just like me.

Man is a spiritual being having a human experience. Man consists of mind, body and spirit. Being spiritual means living an authentic life knowing that you are part of a greater whole. Spirituality is your birthright. The things that are abstract to you like love, compassion, Peace, Happiness, justice, universal brotherhood, honesty, respect and so forth are the ingredients of a spiritual life. Buddha doesn't talk about GOD. That is not important. What is important is to be godlike - like Jesus The Christ, and all the masters who have lived in the past.

So what is it like to walk the spiritual path? Look to your own life to find the answer. You've been walking the spiritual path since you were born. There is no way not to be walking the spiritual path, because there is no other path to walk. All of life is spiritual, and every step you take is a step on the spiritual path. You are a spiritual being, and everything that you think, say, and do is a spiritual event.

a spirit is a complex entity more likely known to be a product of human imagination. although i should say that i'm open to the possibilities of having a spirit or walking the spiritual path like you say.

Yes! Spirituality has nothing to do with religion. One can be Spiritual but not religious. And one can be religious but not spiritual. Yet, they can also go hand in hand.
