    Question Pondering the filipino cuisine


    Is our cuisine healthy enough?


    Consider the following:

    staple - rice
    main courses - usually meat-based (ex. adobo, mechado, afritada, dinuguan, lechon, pochero, etc.)
    typical breakfast - rice, fried egg, hotdog / fried rice, tocino / bread, coffee
    typical lunch - rice, humba, softdrink
    typical dinner - rice, monggos, fried fish, sawsawan

    hmmm.
    being a pinoy i really don't care if my expected lifespan is around 60 and below... 60 is already high hahaha. probably around 40...
    this is how we are. and we have fun on our lives and we go on to the fullest unlike our american or caucasian counterparts that would last way beyond 90 but deprive themselves. and depend on us to wipe there behinds. at the times that they couldn't... anyway control ra gyud sa atung kinaun proper diet and exercise para sakto nga apil ta sa arthro. hehehe

    for a short period i was eating korean/japanese meals. when i switched to pinoy, naka ingon jud ko di kaayu ta healthy. wala kaayu tay fresh veggies. kung kinilaw nga utan kay naa juy suka. parat pa jud.

    Contrary to public gastronomic preference (loaded with grease, fat,uric acid, cholesterol aside from too much protein and carbs), kanang pinakbet healthy man na kay ampalaya and squash atbp and the healthiest pinoy ingredient of all is found in a pinoy backyard - ang camonggay.
