Or is it the Filipinos making a disgrace out of democracy??
You have a point. It goes to show again that it is not the system that has a flaw but the people running the system.
It's the Philippine Politics that is screwing us, mga KORAKOT kaayo! From the President to the very low lvl sa government position, mga CRAP! Specially ang mga local government, congressmen og senators. Mayors for example in the entire country are CORRUPT! Si Mayor Tomas Osmeña ra siguro ang less corrupt nga mayor sa cebu. The rest SUPER KORAKOT!Be good if wala nay political dynasty sa Cebu region or sa entire country. This is why mess kaayo ang entire philippines because of the political dynasty. Nya e treat pa ka if mulansar ka against the incumbent. Grrr!

It's the Filipinos man. the only thing that can save our country is to focus on solutions not on problems. and never compromise what the government did wrong.!!!
Not the democracy, but our government. Blame the government, especially the corrupt ones!!
Blaming the government is just plain naive. Sure, they are more than just flawed but have you looked at the Filipino?
By this I mean, did you cross the street using the sidewalk today?
Did jeepney in front of you pull over in the correct loading/unloading area?
Did people finally stop clogging the junction box under the traffic lights today?
Are the two-lane streets finally rid of three lanes worth of vehicles?
Those are simplest of traffic rules. This shit happens EVEN before everyone gets to their schools and offices.
The Filipino is a selfsih, poverty-content, crab mentalitied, backwards society.
We were better off under some country. Our heroes up in heaven are looking down and saying, "I died for this??
this is the line --------- cross it. i dare you
Well I guess we have Manuel L. Quezon to blame for this.
"I prefer a country run like hell by Filipinos to a country run like heaven by Americans. Because, however bad a Filipino government might be, we can always change it." - Manuel L. Quezon
Well its been several decades and we've undergone so many changes and yet still for the worst.
I really confused what's the real meaning of "DEMOCRACY". This actually what makes our country poor.
DEMOCRACY literally means "rule by the people" . It doesn't really mean that our country is poor. A lot of countries practice a democratic form of government and still manage to be economically and politically outstanding.
A lot of Filipino traits are good and are admired by foreigners. The thing with us is that we tend to abuse the freedom extended to us by our constitution and whats worse is the the very people who we expect to govern us are the very ones abusing the authority granted to them by the people.
I guess if we really want change, it should start in each one of us. Any little good deed you can means a lot already and if everybody could practice that. You could just imagine what a beautiful country we are, not just with our environment but as well the people. It's about setting aside for once our own individual interest and focus on how we can grow as a nation together.
