i love all that is stated above. here's why:
Visual Arts: i dabble in a little photography with my point and shoot digicam, in fact, some of my pics are posted on a friends photoblog. http://photography.mojado.com/guestb...cat_benjie.php
Martial Arts: i was into martial arts for a good 5 or so years. until work and other things got in the way, i would love to get back though.
Culinary Arts: once in a while i cook for my family and friends. i own a couple of cookbooks and do research on recipes and ingredients.
Music: as a former mobile dj, music was and is still a big part of my life. in helps me forget the stresses of everyday life.
Dance: music, dance and theater go hand in hand.
Illusion: you forgot to mention mrbiddle's "diyes kamunggayan". i am a fan of illusion and magic, even the card tricks you showed us during a meeting.
Film Art: SineBuano. enough said.

cge lang, i'll reciprocate by donating to you a Video 8 tape. Surely, it won't take 2 tapes to film the remaining footage of THE WITNESS: BEHIND THE SCENES.

Films/movies. And everything that go with it --- film history, film theory, production, postproduction and film criticism.
Reggie, sa drawing
do you do texture strokes or spreading?
do you prefer linear or painterly?
i try so hard for painterly pero there's also something linear that gets left out, lisod....
i like sculptures, spefically the ones that are half done and half unfinished. same with drawings. i prefer charcoal over anything else. for the sole reason that it's the only thing i can get better results with. dancing is something i'd love to learn (particularly latino). as for music, it's always there. always within reach. but nothing's first on my list. all of them go together.
i think martial arts is the best. from this art you can derive the way of life as well as other arts...
-visual arts can be derived from the movement of martial arts as well as the grace of the martial artist.
-culinary arts, check out iron chef =)
-music can be derived from the sounds of the Escrimador or Arnisadors as well as the clash of knuckles and the sound of flesh meeting each other
-dance can be derived from the gracefulness of martial arts
-illusion, hmmm... i don't know how to relate it... hehe
-film art. need i say more?
the irony is that all the other arts are of life while martial arts is of death. well sort of death because it deals with combat. i sense a subliminal meaning that out of chaos will come life...
=)
Actually, martial arts can be a healing art... such as the internal arts like Tai'Chi QuiGong or DimMak... and i think i heard Michelle Yeoh mention that the philosophy of the martial arts is the exact opposite of what people make it to be --- it's about pacifying situations rather than putting people to sleep or beating the sh1t out of them.the irony is that all the other arts are of life while martial arts is of death
can i choose 3
i like visual art, culinary, & music w/o this 3 arts in my life ill be dead now
but you can also look at it from the point of view of Sun Tzu. peace can only be achieved thru war. that healing can only be achieved after a tremendous pain. btw, where does the art of war come in? hehe...Originally Posted by MrBiddle
