Well the purpose of fiestas is to keep the catholics poor.
They encourage people to spend their whole year savings in just one day.
So they stay poor and they keep going to church.

If they become rich there's a chance they forget going to church and the church will lose followers and eventually lose potential donors.

a fiesta is a big party and big parties aren't supposed to be holy. this happens right after we bless the person who is an example of exceptional holiness, which we call a saint (define: saint) on that day.

its merely a celebration. we eat, we dance, we socialize.
