bigger does not translate to faster, it would depend on your usage. HDD speed depends on the RPM of your HDD plus wether it is IDE or SATA + cache. SATA are much more faster than IDE in transfering data. about the "errors"

what kind of errors do you get?

like bluescreen of death errors. then when reboot mu.scandisk lang ug kalit. i cant really detect the problem. the technician said di daw kaapas ang 40gig kay hinay ra or gamay ra. is that reasonable? its an ide maxtor 40gb 5400rpm i think.

band new na imo computer bro? automatic reboot imo computer or ikaw pa ang mo reset? 5400rpm is slow for todays standard but i don't think that is the reason. naa manay message mo gawas basta BSOD unsa man iya message? scandisk is automatic kon dili siya ma tarong og off like BSOD.

IMO, mura ug RAM ang culprit most of the time sa BSOD's. Unsa imo errors? memory allocation? kung mao na, then its your RAM... If dili, then give us more details. I'm using a 5400RPM Seagate in my office, paired with a Pentium 4 2.8@3.4GHz... Wa man ko problem na encounter bahin sa HDD.
