i have never heard of such software that could destroy the hard drive
possibly corrupt the os and the files (like virus or malware) but dili man i-destroy ang sectors on a hard drive...

That could be possible. Imagine a software running 24 hours crunching the HDD plus no proper cooling system. Actually this also happens to HDDs of servers in Data Centers, physical media error jud ang resulta.
