You question why you should die for your country?
If you read in our country's history, you'd know how MANY Filipinos died for our country. How they've fought for freedom and shrugged off the tortures and threats. Because they wanted FREEDOM for the Filipino people.
Since then, we're enjoying the FREEDOM.
Ang nakapait pa jud, the country is even poorer with its people pulling it down with negativity instead of helping it to rise.
Today, I really felt so empty, so devoid of thoughts even, only my biological motor functions took me for a random walk. Along my path was an old man on a wheelchair. He was wearing a hat emblazoned with the words "War Veteran". I paused, and asked him, "sir, you fought in World War II?" The guy pushing his chair answered for him, "oo". I said, "ako papa beterano pud, 75th Infantry Division". The old man's eyes glowed upon hearing those, held my hand and asked, "75th pud ko dong, kinsa diay imo papa?". I told him, and the glow in his eyes transformed to glassy, I know he was transported to a distant past, reminiscing a time when he fought and offered his life for his country. "Kaila man ko sa imo papa, kauban mi". "Sige Nong, ayo ayo". It was my turn to feel my own reminiscing. I had sworn allegiance to another country's flag, and offered my life too.
As my path became blurry, I thought of the choices, of offering a life for one's country. The old man, and my father willingly did their duty, because they felt in their hearts that it was worth it.
But is this country still the same that our fathers gladly defended and fought for?
I regret at having returned home.
NO, these Filipinos of today is not anymore worth dying for.

I will defend my Country Not for the Stambay but for my Family.
We have freedom today because a lot of Filipinos before us Died for their country, even if they know that NOT all Filipinos are WORTH Dying for. Filipinos Before are already DIVIDED even the time of Spaniards. But they still do it because they Believed that what they do will eventually give Freedom to all future Generations including a lot of UNGRATEFUL BASTARDS that only thinks of what their country can do to them without even thinking the sacrifices others do in order for them to enjoy what they have now.![]()
