People can see beyond bro..and I'll take his word for it..daghan fratmen nga open-minded, and they can transcend beyond traditions and realize that it is wrong to inflict physical harm on pledgees, I know for sure, I have a boss like that for one...and you know what his brods abhor his stand on the issue kay dili pa sila ka open sa ilaha mind

It's not that easy to remove or separate hazing from fraternities because right from the start it has been there and now it's tradition. The sad and unfortunate part is that the hazing most and if not almost all fratmen these days know are all about paddling and inflicting pain to it's pledgees and neophytes. I myself is a fratman and has experienced how it is being paddled, punched and even insulted by the so-called "masters". Now we give a different kind of hazing so to speak. Instead of hurting the pledgee in any way, we rather give them assignments and projects for them to comply in a little span of time. But if they can't comply in time, that's the time we resort to the traditional hazing. And so far, no one of our new brods and sis has been paddled since we applied it. Kinsa man pud ang ganahan magpabual when they've got a lot better and sensible alternative.

maybe its time for guys like you to get your message across, but honestly, I still dont believe that you have to resort to the tradition once a pledgee gets bust..no harm done, no matter what, thats the way I see it.

Most fratmen, especially those hazing freaks, are still very engrossed in the idea of paddling. I would rather do my own thing along with my brods and sis and other fratmen who share the same mentality as me rather than asserting much effort in trying to change other people's or should I say fratmen's minds or to get my point to their heads. To each of his own. . Anyway, kung magkaproblema ila ra pud na.

Regarding resorting to paddling, it's about reward and punishment. We value our fraternity a lot that we follow a strict hierarchy and I do believe all fraternities do too. As long as one is a pledgee, the "masters" has always the say. Prior in giving baptismal, we orient our pledgees that we only give sensible and rational demands and if in any way they find it abusive or offensive, they can always voice out freely and pinpoint why they won't agree with. We ourselves as the "masters" weigh things before giving it out to our pledgees and we don't let them do anything just because we want them too. If in any way they can't accomplish or somehow fail to properly give the output, then it's time for punishment. Bunalan man gani ta kadtong bata pa ta nga wa ta'y buot, samot na kaha ning dagko na ta nga dali ra ta istoryahon. . But of course we just don't paddle like there's no tomorrow, timbangon pud namo kung unsa kagrabe ang kapalpak.

no, that is still not a valid reason for me...capital punishment when done by parents is even punishable by law..what you just reasoned out is tantamount to dictatorship..you put the pledgee in a situation that she cant complain and for sure if you got a real brainy one who can keep you arguing, it aint lookng pretty coz you are going to be pissed, why not just go through legit rituals, daghan options that can instill genuine learning and loyalty other than inflicting harm...just my two cents worth, daghan naman gud namatay ana, and oh by the way, if you know about the hazing, you can still be charged as an accessory or accomplice..withholding vital information to aid the commission of a crime is punishable by law as well

I think they just want him dead. Like, how do you kill a man?

maybe things just went a littel out of control and it was too late they realized the damage they have done was irreparable..and that's what I'm saying, things like that can go out of control so why just not do it para wala na lang palpak...Things like that, it was never meant to happen, wala lang gyud ma control

It a weird thing when that happens, see. You and your buddies there doing the "initiation" rites then suddenly you just killed someone.

Yeah, besides I would never hit my own brother just to prove he's loyal to me. You can always talk about it. From what I see this society has lost sense of brotherly intimacy to one another
