if you ask what exact law Intel is breaking, this is just one of them...

    141. California Business & Professions Code ยง 17045 provides in pertinent part:
17045. The secret payment or allowance of rebates, refunds,
commissions, or unearned discounts, whether in the form of money
or otherwise, or secretly extending to certain purchasers special
services or privileges not extended to all purchasers purchasing
upon like terms and conditions, to the injury of a competitor and
where such payment or allowance tends to destroy competition, is
    unlawful.

Wrong, wrong, very wrong... if they are trying to eliminate the competition, then what's you call monopolization, a clear violation of US anti trust laws. Violate the law, pay the consequences.

Just because almost every other businessman practices or would like to practice these types of tactics if given the chance, doesn't make it right or acceptable.

    1. Innocent until proven guilty. Until proven guilty, all these are ... are allegations.
    2. If proven guilty, Intel will pay. Period. This is not a moral battle where what is acceptable differs depending on who you ask. The law clearly states what is acceptable business practice.
    3. In the end, there will be no guilty party. There will be no overwhelming victory or defeat. Everything will be settled out of court. Money will change hands and the only losers are the consumers.

    The story goes:

Various organizations like WWF and Unicef was trying to develop a cheap laptop to used by the poor people of Africa. Intel and AMD were asked to help in the situation. Intel got pissed because the project included AMD. They pulled out and left the development team. They didn't even give out anything to the poor..
