Thumbs up AMD Phenom II + 4890 CF floored down Intel i7 + 295 Quad SLI in CS Source benchmark

Just would like to share an interesting and unexpected (at least to me) Counter strike Source benchmark. During the video stress testing it was very noticeable drop in frame rates on the i7 set up while very smooth on the AMD system. I think directx 9.0 has something to do with the results.

Disclaimer: This is a personal testing and I am no expert with this thing so results should be taken with a grain of salt

    System1
    MB: EVGA Classified
Proc: Intel i7 @ 4.2 ghz HT on
    RAM: 3x2GB Extreem @1600MHZ
Video: GTX 295 Quad SLI stock speed
CS Video Stress Test result: 53.18 fps

Proc: Phenom II 955 BE @ 3.2 GHZ
    RAM: 2x2GB Corsair Dom @ 1333MHZ
    Video: XFX 4890 Crossfire
CS Video Stress Test result: 277.68 fps

naa pa'y daghan benchmark na malupig ang i7 sa Phenom II 955 (iirc) bai. kalimot ko pangalan sa site pero ilang benchmark kay 4890 in crossfire mode and at stock settings. sa techpowerup nako nakit-an.

this one I was not expecting because of the huge difference in fps 277 vs 53! ,

    3.2 ghz + 4890 CF vs. 4.2 ghz + quad sli

wow, to think procie and memory speed daku difference na daan. plus the quad setup in multi-GPU. i must admit medjo na-surprise ko gamay sa difference sa FPS. naay reviews jud showing results na mudaug ang phenom II, maybe there are just some programs designed to maximize processor designs over speed.

    tnx for add info sir...

try using the same videocard for both benchmarks para eliminate ug variables. ur comparing videocards and processors at the same time... very hard to compare.

bsag one gtx 295 lang or one 4890.

kung amd dragon vs. intel i7... at least use the 4870x2 for the i7 also.

this really is more of AMD/ATI vs Intel/NVDIA system and if you look at the specs between the 2 systems, the intel setup already has the upper hand and really don't think it will reverse the course with what you're suggesting and I could have actually tried that if the results were the opposite. What would be more interesting though is to test the AMD Phenom II X2 550BE against Intel E6500K on CF ready P45 platform.

ATI vs. NVIDIA? mo prefer ko sa ATI jud.. proven and tested na.. nindot jud ang ATI.. hayz.. na discourage nako sa intel i7, not knowing, bisag lower ang AMD phenomII kaysa i7, pero, daogon sa performance, mas nindot jud diay ang AMD.. and it really rocks the game world..

lols, don't be so hasty kay CS source ra ni na benchmark oi and not an accurate representation of capabilty sa NVDIA cards...na timingan ra ni kay mao man gud ni ang games na gikabuangan sa akong mga kids few weeks back and nahibulong ko while watching them play nga mo drop anf frame rate sa i7 rig..so ako gi reinstall ang game then update driver but to my surprise kay same gihapon..mao to akong gi video stress test 5 times and was surprised on what i saw on the screen after the tests

    naa napud heheheh...

Maski asa affordable ug maayo ug performance adto ta. At least AMD Rockz again! hopefully lang they will dominate it all consistently.
