I know sigma rho fraternity, in fact i know someone who is an alumnus of sigma rho. And based on what i have observed it really was an accident because i'am a fratman as well and based on my observations sigma rho is not like those "kalye frats" where you get tricycle drivers as your brods. they are one of those elite frats of society. Those humble frats who do more for society di yung nakikipagbatuhan ng "pill box" at naghahasik ng lagim. LOL! And when you say elite frats their initiations are sacred, di yan ginaganap sa kung saan saang kanto lang. Di yan ginaganap sa bukirin ng kung sinong pontio pilato lang. Its usually on a private location. I know so beacuse i have been there. I was bed ridden for almost a week before finally being able to walk and take a pee! Its so sad to see another life taken away because really the way of the frat, the true frat is to teach and not to kill. The true way is to enlighten others to do good and just for his fellow man. This case will never be solved why?
1. Cris knew the risk he was getting himself into. He knew because he was joining the an elite frat. (mind you that the requirements of true frats are very high so he definitely knew what he was getting into.)
2. For everyone who has been to UP Diliman i know you can relate with me. I have been to UPD (2 as a part of a chapter visit) and im telling you iba ang buhay doon. The way students act, talk, everything...IBA! Not in a wild, kinky or horny kind of way na iba, iba in a way na when you come in the campus your really amazed because the non UP tag line for UP students na "iskolar ng bayan" is really true. And not only that but frats/soro in the campus has become a way of life. Frats in the campus and neos in the campus are nothing new in UPD. Not only that but all as in 99% of all professors in the campus is an alumnus of a certain frat. Whether we like it or not frats are here to stay and whatever we do we can never really take them out. Heck even pandak arroyo was an alumni of a soro at her school back in the US. (shocking but true) its so sad but again he knew the risk and he took it. Too bad he didnt make it.
I think inflicting physical pain on the neophytes is against the law, and it is passe..kahit tradisyon napapalitan for better ways..especially if the tradition has become illegal..hazing is illegal, no matter how you use other terms if what you do falls under the definition of hazing in the Anti-Hazing Law, officers of that fraternity are accountable, as well as alumni that knew of it
