If that's the step they are making, they have all the right and means to do so. As a nation no one is stopping them to implement such rules. But what is really bothersome is the after effects of such laws once implemented. Sure there will be no more Filipino Domestic Help around HK, there are still a lot of alternative countries to get house help from. There is Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar..etc but that's not the main point.

The main point is, what to do with the deported house help once this law is implemented? Will the PH Government offer them jobs? The clear answer is NO.

Phil media love pushing stories about Filipinos being victimized LoL. This proposal doesn't have popular support, but if we fail to address the obvious lingering grievance about the travesty that was the Manila Bus Hostage incident it could turn into something bigger. Come on govt.... do your job and engage in diplomacy. A simple gesture is all that's required, don't mess around with the fate of 160,000 workers.... we know you don't have any jobs for them.
