Need help with a AMD quad-core barebone upgrade

@ simoko : well i always knew that the DFI Lanparty series mobo is 1 of the best mobo for overclocking and its stability,..... and thought that its the number 1 choice for "Hardcore Computer Enthusiasts". the thing is that,...... i dont think that im gonna be doing hardcore overclocking this new built / upgrade. i might just keep it stock,..... or maybe bump it up a notch,..... but nothing to crazy,....

i'v been thinkin' and researching about it and it comes down to 2 motherboards
DFI LP UT 790FX-M2R
and
GIGABYTE GA-MA790FX-DS5



i need some more second opinion about the mobo's though,...... any one else has something good or bad to say about any of the mobo's?

For me Intel is getting greedy...

$300 for an x48 chipset motherboard....

I am leading towards AMD now.... even though the Phenom lags in performance.... its cheaper....

an x48 chipset is high-end, not for the faint of heart.

x48 starts 300 and up...

so? phenoms lag behind core 2 quads anyway. and, intel high end platforms are not for people who would find products that are "good to go with", they are for people who have a lot of money to spend.

I always said phenoms do not beat the core 2 quads....

but in gaming in all boils down to the video card...

so the money I save using phenoms can go to a much better video card

Well what is your use for a PC? Gaming pushes the limit of a PC...

if you just do word processing or microsoft office then better get a celeron....

lets keep it ONLY AMD with a 790FX chipset,....

have u guys heard anything about the SB700? when is it coming out,..... is it worth waiting for?
