on tv, there's a government sponsored ad about "damang-dama ang asenso"... ikaw, feel mo?
tell us your story.
" A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. " - 2nd Amendment , Bill of Rights of the United States of America
So on top of all the deductions sa withholding nga 32% plus VAT nga 12% ug uban pa nga government mandated deductions sa kada oras nga motrabaho ko ang tunga padung sa taxes.
OT : Don't get me wrong, I am not against taxes per se. It's just nga para madama ang asenso dapat makit-an nako asa padung ang akong nabayran nga buhis. Hahay.
As long as the government is keeping the tourism go, aasenso tayo!
ang asenso, dili ra bahin sa kwarta...it's looking beyond those.
Gaining knowledge should not stop when u graduate in school. It's an ever continuing endeavor until you die.
Also lifestyle kng ni asenso ba ka like clothes, eating habits, quality time, job or business, housing/shelter, automobile, cellphones, electronic gadgets, appliances, cable TV, etc.
And last but not the least, Spirituality, Moral Values, Relationships, and Mental Positiveness kng ni asenso ba ka...
---ooo---
as for me, of course i felt the asenso.
before i only had the Easycall pager, now im using N70. before i used to work on a minimum wage, now i work on my own free time. before i used to have a black & white TV, now i have flat-screen. before i used to frequent internet cafes, now i have a DSL connection at home. before i used to ride the jeepney, now i can afford to buy a motorcycle. before i used to eat at Jollibee whenever ra naay mamangka or a treat from my parents, now i can dine there anytime i want, plus coffee pa gyud sa Bo's. before i used to drink from our deep well, now i have a regular delivery of mineral water.
and looking outside my window, before we only had a few neighbors, now almost all the lots are occupied. before i only walked 10 minutes from our house to the nearest jeepney stop, now we have the trisikads & tricycles that takes me there a lot faster. before we only had 1 sari-sari store for every 3 blocks, now we have 1 on every block. before, only our rich neighbors have at least 1 car, now almost everyone has. before, only the rich can afford cellphones, now even the limonsito vendor in Carbon has one.
before we only depend on Fairmart, Gazini, Uptown, White Gold and Gaisano Main for our shopping pleasures, now we have SM, Ayala, Countrymall, E-mall and BTC. before we used to commute to USC-TC on a dirty and dusty road that took almost forever to widen and asphalt, now it's the new students who are reaping the rewards. sauna sikat na para namo kng naa kay box-type car, karon knanglan Lancer Evo gyud. before we used to complain of traffic in the Old Mactan bridge, now we have an alternative Fernan bridge. before we only had Ultra Vistarama, Belvic and Century 21 to watch latest movies, now we have Dolby surround systems in malls, not to mention free downloads from the internet...
If one works hard and smart enough, ang asenso naa gyud and one can really feel it coming. It would depend primarily on oneself and not from other factors like the government, other people, surroundings, and whatever lame excuses or reasons one can have. We all have the right and power to create our own fate, fortune, success, and future and it would all start now.
One very visible and concrete example is Manny Villar.
Sa Cebu (or at least started their endeavors from Cebu), we have Lucio Tan, John Gokongwei (Cebu Pacific, C2 drink), Jesus Garcia (Sun.Star), Carlito Tio (Sun Gold), Benson Dakay (Shemberg, Lion-Tiger), Ramon Aboitiz, Augusto Go, Quisumbing, Gaisano, and lots of other success stories to think of...Originally Posted by yokam
