    Don't be too sure about Ati losing sa Nvidia...

    Just because the HD 3870 loses to the 8800GT doesnt mean that 2x HD3870 will be slower than 2x 8800GT.

    Infact, Crossfire is more efficient than SLI. They were able to test this and both setups were quite equal.

    http://forums.firingsquad.com/firing...sage.id=112616

    The tests show crossfire scaling better vs. SLI. Ati may lose in some benchmarks pero its not a total whitewash compared to 8800GT vs HD3870 scenario

    hmmm

    i guess they have to be working on there drivers.. but ATM the nvidia's 9800GX2 beats AMD's 3870X2

    as u see it has it downfall.. nvidia beats amd but it is hotter that 3870x2..

    hopefully i can get the benchy... i HOPE...

    well i ddnt say HD3870 is beaten up my nvidia's 8800GT in SLI/crossfire mode... [drool]

    lyk is said it has its downfall

    "Crossfire scales very well in general, but ATI just does not do AA."

    so everycard is not perfect....

    take note bro...
    i say

    9800 GX2 vs. 3870x2

    not

    8800GT vs HD3870 [SLI/Crossfire]

    its a different story..

    I'll make an early guess-timate...

    Quad Fire on HD3870X2 will most likely be better than Quad SLI on 9800GX2

    We'll have to see the numbers if the 9800GX2 is better than 2 x 8800GT's in SLI

    Early reports say its has 2 PCB's (like the 7950GX2) which was like two 7950GT's in SLI.

    Thats why I'm comparing the 9800 GX2 to 8800GT SLI.. its essentially an SLI on one card... unless they did something different this time.

    SLI/CF does not combine both ram, each card gets a full copy of the frame buffer. if your card is 1GB, running them at SLI will still get you 1GB total.

    hmmm...

    correct me if im wrong but i guess DAMMIT kinda follow Nvidia SLI Bridge..

    cuz if memory serves me right CF is connected Vie Cord at the back of the VCard.

    The 9800 is kinda using the SLI type. Two cards.

    ATIs approach is 1 PCB with 2 gpus. So its not crossfire.

    ABviously you can see the pics as comparing both.

    Thats what you call crossfire not a copy of SLI if 2 ATI cards are paired. And its entirely different.

    yea... it was the Crossfire b4..

    and they know it suckz so they now use the

    kinda nvidia connector..

    hehehe..

    correct me if im wrong thou.

    Obviously you are wrong ( as almost always )

    9800GX2:
    * 2x G92 cores in 1 card
    * Communicates via SLI technology
    * Requires 16x ( electronically ) PCIe slots for optimized performance
    * Does not require SLI capable motherboard

    3870X2:
    * 2x R670 cores in 1 card ( correct me on the code name if its wrong )
    * Communicates via CF technology
    * Requires 16x ( electronically ) PCIe slots for optimized performance
    * Does not require CF capable motherboard

    Its kinda funny when you saw this you assumed that the GX2 comes in 2 cards out of the box.
