sa IVF the egg and sperm are fertilized in a petri dish. they call it a "test-tube baby" but it's actually done in a petri dish. they usually get 5 embryos bec. there is only a 1/5 success rate. i have a friend who has tried it for three times before she finally got pregnant and she had twins! it is expensive. i remember rosanna roces saying in an interview that she spent more than a million pesos to have her daughter.

Actually, Zirv, IVF is already done in Manila... and there's one clinic opening this July here in Cebu that will do IVF. The Doctor who performs this is Dr. Marivic Romualdez Tan. She's a very famous Reproductive Endocrinologist in Cebu. She's been doing AI (Artificial Insamenation) for 2 years now. She also does IVF but she flies to Manila to perfrom In Vitro Fertilization due to lack of equipments. Her clinic now is at 3/F M. Diaz Building (across Cebu Doctor's Hospital) but they're going to transfer this July (this week or next week) to their new clinic which is across Cocomall, the name is Stanford Laborates. Their new clinic will do AI (Artificial Insamenation) and IVF (In-Vitro Fertlization).

IVF cost in Manila- P500,000
AI in Cebu- P10,000 - P15,000

Once IVF is available in Cebu, it will be cheaper, maybe around P200,000-P300,000

Sa IVF daw it's always na naay madevelop nga babies more than 2 sa tiyan sa babae. Daghanon man daw og butang sa doctors sulod sa ovary sa babae para higher chance of pregnancy.

Nafeature man ni sa discovery channel. If like 5 na kabuok or more ang babies sa tiyan, patayon to ang mga weakest babies. Ibilin lang ang most desired! How sad no! If inani, di ba ni maconsider as abortion gihapon ni?

By the way, naa may alternative ang mga katigulangan ani. They call it "Pakati"!. You don't need to undergo AI or IVF.

2 of my Aunts have done this and they are sisters. One of my Aunt legally adopt the son of his brother after failing all those AI procedures. After 4 years she got pregnant. My second Aunt didn't legally adopt but had my nephew which is a few months old stayed at their house and been taken cared of by her for a few months and she got pregnant also after my 1st Aunt. Take note, both of them are on their 40's already and in their marriage life for more than 15 years. I know this has no scientific basis but it seems to work.

However, whatever you decided to do with AI, IVF of "Pakati" as they call it. It should be accompanied by prayers.
