Poro Cave Discovery
Poro is a controversial land of Camotes Islands.
The people migration existed even before the Spaniards settlement in the Islands. There's a connection to the rest of the world.
The Chinese dynasty, during the time of Song, Tong and Ming, the Arabs, business traders and surrounded regions near by, they brought up the evidenced, artifacts collection in this Island.
"No doubted that the pro-active Camotes people connection to the world has comprehension."
The digging of the artifacts of the collection of bones, wares were proven to be the melting path in Asia million years ago. If you compared the three towns, Poro is truly a unique Island. The caves of Tudela and Poro were brought up the past as early as the 10th century, 12th century and 15th century AD.
The neighbouring regions migrated to settle here, formed the mixture of the dialect in Poro compared to the three towns of Camotes Islands. Foremost the natives of Camotes Islands started from these two suburbs, Busay (east) and Mactan (south).
The discovery of Camotes started even before the arrival of the Spaniards. The two villages, from the South (Busay) and West (Mactang), compromised to walk before the sunrise.
“Whenever they will meet, they will build, the first town of Poro.”

Right on the spot – the first town had created by the Porohanons. They're built a wooden church, the Municipal Hall, The Gym. But the church was re-built by the Augustinian friars in 1849.

The Muslims battled with the natives in Poro and the spread out of religion around Asia even before the Spanish time.
According to Ronald Carcellar. Professor Bailin of UP, from Aerchologist department, said: If you generalized, Camotes was a pre-historic Island like Hongkong million years ago.” Ronald Carcellar explained; “from Camotes to Cebu City (mainland) takes 4 hours by ships, and Pigafetta (Magellan Priest) exactly described in the book, they started at 12 am and they had arrived nearly 4 am.
Magellan erected a cross along Magallanes Street, by the sea from Magallanes Street to Lapulapu City, it’s not even an hour to travel?” They spread out religion around Asia, the Arabs, Chinese Dynasty and the neighbouring area in the Philippines. Magellan cruised around the world in 1500. Their second stop was Cebu, after Limasawa Island, but when Lapulapu fought Magellan. He was killed in the Philippines.
During the Battle of Magellan and Lapulapu
Low tide in Mactan” Poro abundance of soil, water, the sand much wider to walk, the beaches are awesome. Ronald Carcellar concluded; “when the 1,500 male soldiers arrived from the ship called “Victoria Galleon”, walking the sand before reaching the soil, to visualize also that, they have wives and children, how can they survive in Mactan Island or Opon Island?”
The catholic faith follows ever since the Spaniard settlement catholic introduced. It’s intensely debate, it’s difficult to confine, remained unsolved, the treasures in this Island, the involvement of the past finding artifacts, from the Arabs, Chinese dynasty existed even before the Spaniard settlement, evidence’s proven. Mactan or Mactang?
According to a columnist friend of mine, historians are still debating whether Ferdinand Magellan landed in Mactan Island or Sito Mactang in Poro, Camotes Island. He says if Lapu-Lapu was a "Porohanon" it might have well been Mactang Island.
Mactang Island is nearer from Limasawa than Mactan, my friend adds. And according to records, Mactan Island was formerly known as Opon Island, further indicating the Mactang Island could've been the site for the famous battle. Further reading on the subject also tells me that there were no recorded excavations done in Mactan, while diggings done in the 70s yielded daggers, shields, swords, skull pierced with an arrowhead, and other artifacts, in fact they say that the evidence is displayed in the municipal hall.
If it was Mactang, then when did the transformation of Mactang to Mactan happen? or did it really happen in Mactan? or is it Mactang?
