theres nothing wrong on what intels doing, hey thats business, even you would do it for profit. they are not doing anything illegal and againts amd physically. amd cant win on the market thats thier big problem, they need to make better deals with the marketing end if they want to beat intel. amd built chips that literally beats intel chips in performance, but that is not everything to win the marketing end, they are to stupid if they think they can beat intel with just that.

Wala may kulang ang AMD its the
consumers(especially dumb ones) who are willing to pay higher cost
for a lesser feature, slower, and lack of innovation, ineffecient processors combined
with Intels monopoly marketing practices. This gives intel more profits thus Intel
    wins in market share.

For me I'll go for technology, innovation and feature of the processor and not on market share.
Since Intel is on the brink side of the competition and beaten by AMD, Intel strive on
    monopolizing the market.

What Intel is doing is very wrong. Using its financial might to beat on its smaller competitors. We the consumers lose out in the end. They're trying their best to monopolize the market. If Intel manages to bankrupt AMD, we'd be forced to buy inferior products at high prices and will discourage other chip makers from making innovations and introducing newer and better products. We'd be at their mercy and just buy whatever they sell at high prices even if their products are inefficient and inferior.
AMD is trying to make better deals by offering lower prices on some of their chips but they lose out to intels tactics.
Unsa man na hitabo sa cable tv diri? Sky bought out the other smaller operators here and increase prices. before naa pa unta to cebu cable offering lower cable prices. Mas maayo pa ang cable sa uban probinsya cheaper rates and mas naa pa uban channels. Sa shipping, nag sabot sila who will ply what route so when only one shipping company is plying that route taas dayon presyo. Luoy kaayo ang conumer/pasahero coz no choice but to pay up.

AMD Hopes to Win Public Support

Chip maker is launching a series of newspaper ads, urging users to read its antitrust complaint.

Advanced Micro Devices is hoping to win the support of U.S. legislators and average computer users alike in its antitrust lawsuit against Intel.

The company will place a full-page advertisement in seven U.S. newspapers on Wednesday, explaining why it filed suit and encouraging newspaper readers to delve into the full text of its 48-page complaint, according to an e-mail from AMD.

The ad, entitled "Intel Antitrust Suit: Why AMD filed," says AMD's competitor has harmed and limited competition in the microprocessor industry. It goes on to accuse Intel of five actions which, while "just business" in most competitive situations, AMD believes are illegal when undertaken by a monopolist. The ad concludes with an invitation to download and read the full complaint AMD filed with the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on Monday.

The style of that complaint is more literary than legalese, and for a legal document it makes unusually easy reading, according to one analyst.

"Legal documents are not usually as nicely written," says Brian Gammage, a vice president with industry analyst Gartner.

AMD appears to be interested in winning more than just the legal battle against Intel, he says.

"This is partly about garnering public interest. The exposure this is going to gain is part of their objective," he says.

    Wide Audience
The seven newspapers chosen by AMD for its advertising campaign show that it is reaching out to a wide audience.

Top of the list is a local newspaper with specific appeal to the technology industry: The Austin American-Statesman covers the area around its main U.S. chip fabrication plant in Austin, Texas. Intel also has an office there, where around 550 employees work on designing its next generation of microprocessors. Another on the list, The Mercury News, in San Jose, California, is required reading in Silicon Valley, where both Intel and AMD are headquartered.

Legislators and political lobbyists are also targeted: the ad will appear in The Hill and Roll Call, two newspapers dealing with news from Washington, D.C.'s Capitol Hill.

The general business audience is not forgotten, as The Wall Street Journal is also on the list. And AMD will reach out to typical computer users--whether at home or in businesses--with ads in metropolitan dailies like The New York Times and The Washington Post.

Its your choice for buying an intel. I don't think people who buy intel products are dumb. I don't think Intel has slow, uninnovative or inferior products compared to AMD. I also think AMD is doing a good job competing with Intel. At the end of the day, it just comes to a personal choice. Intel or AMD, Nvidia or ATI, Corsair or Kingston, Toyota or Mitsu, PAL or CebuPac. Hehehe.

naa kuwang ang amd, advertisement. mao ma lupig gyud sila sa intel sa market. it doesnt matter kung a spec kay nindot or dili, majority of the masses are not so particular about specs, so they will just buy what they see good on any ad. thats what intels been doing to win the market againts amd. and maayo sad sila mu propose og deals kay ni accept man ang mga companies na sila mag provide sa mga units for company use.

Intel probably proposed very sweet deals to computer makers on the condition that the companies don't get any chips from AMD. Very common underhanded business tactics.
