the poweredge servers use unbuffered with ECC.
murag ok raman sad ang unbuffered with ECC coz it's also faster than buffered/registered ram.

mas grabe lang ug checking ang buffered kay it gets the data first before giving it to the memory controller.

i'll try this lang sa just as long as naay ECC.

any thoughts about this?

Purchasing "real servers" means hardware reliability. So if enterprise ang setup go for Sun, IBM and Dell those DIY are just not that reliable.

wa pa ko kahikap ug dell pero usually kung branded ang habol nimo is redundant power supply, hot swap HDD, redundant memory, 3 year warranty, etc....otherwise , pwede ra clone server.

name, price, support.

yes, i agree but i've read from other forums also that "real" servermotherboards, server procs, and server memory with ECC are also reliable.
the boards form those other servers come from motherboard manufacturers gihapon.


so anyone with experience building a DIY server with "real server" specs?
