    Default ISA server or just router?

    good day mga bro.. its just my second time to implement a network. my problem is whats the best thing to initiate? an ISA server that controls all the workstations for internet security? or a router with firewall and filter capability? the network has a function or file sharing that comprises of about 35 workstations...

    MY CURRENT NETWORK CONFIG IS :

    DSL MODEM ----> DLINK ROUTER -----> 3COM WHITCH 24PRT ----> WORKSTATIONS
    |
    |--------------------> 3COM WHITCH 24PRT ----> WORKSTATIONS

    i have a web server on one of the workstations running. my current network is P2P .. i am confused if i should switch to DOMAIN.

    your reply my brothers is highly appreciated....

    thanks in advanced!!!

    DSL MODEM - ROUTER - ISA SERVER - SWITCH - WORKSTATION

    Let your ISA Server control all the internet access sa imong workstations......para if their are any attacks, the router will block it..ISA server will block it if maka pass gyud sa router.

    Its better to have this kind of setup so that your workstation are not expose sa net. Imo rang router and your ISA.

    Why don't you cascade your switch sir..

    DSL MODEM ----> DLINK ROUTER -----> ISA SERVER --- > 3COM WHITCH 24PRT ----> WORKSTATIONS
    |
    |--------------------> 3COM WHITCH 24PRT ----> WORKSTATIONS

    is cascading a switch causes any problem like slower network performance ? or it is just the dsame like my current physical connection?

    i am confused.. how to connect the switch from ISA server (from ISA Server to 3COM switch) like the configuration you given me below:

    DSL MODEM ----> DLINK ROUTER -----> ISA SERVER --- > 3COM WHITCH 24PRT ----> WORKSTATIONS
    |
    |--------------------> 3COM WHITCH 24PRT ----> WORKSTATIONS

    do i have to use 2 LANCARDS? on the ISA server ?
