    Non Sequitur.

If you plan to join the discussion then might as well add you thoughts to the mix rather than a vague one-liner that barely makes any sense

    @mods
Sorry for the low blow but seriously

Water boarding, Iron Maiden and Necklacing are no longer practiced in any form of civilized society given its inhumane nature.

You may feel its not enough, but your definition of how a family should be is not the end all be all of everything

What right then would we have to deny pedophiles from marrying children? On a side note it is a known fact that majority of pedophiles are homosexuals.

Where do we draw the line? This is a never ending cycle because people into beastiality, pedophilia, and incest would start demanding the same privilege. And if we deny for reasons not to all different from points raised against the recognition of homosexual marriages, we are still called bigots.

Let what is natural and most beneficial to us all be the basis of law.
Again, you are comparing apples to oranges

    To answer number
    1. Because pets or animals can't give an informed consent
    2. I'll answer this in a whole different post because it warrants that much
    3. Because children can't give informed consent. And what your stating are baseless speculation. If a homosexual commits pedophilia then he shall be dealt with accordingly with the law the same way a heterosexual pedophilia is.
PS. Just a quick question, were you molested as a child? is this where this hate is all coming from?

    4. There is no number 4 because all were answered accordingly

    Good argument by the way.
Because their "happiness" impedes upon the freedom of others that's why.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out

How is legal capacity to enter into a contract of marriage defined under the Family Code?

Art. 2. No marriage shall be valid, unless these essential requisites are present:

    (1) Legal capacity of the contracting parties who must be a male and a female

Diha palang void ab initio na. Is it therefore illegal for homosex people to get married? Not entirely per se but anyone who in administrative capacity presides over such marriages knowing full well that such requirement is not met, is administratively and civilly liable. Not really illegal or criminal in nature (Nullum crimen nulla poena sine lege) since there seems to be no law punishing two who enter into such contract of marriage.

But is the marriage binding? LOL no. Are the rights derived from such marriage enforceable? Shoody since there are none.

Amend the family code and have that particular section deemed unconstitutional? Haha good luck with that.
That's exactly the point of this thread, to have an open discussion and allow others to see things from another person's perspective thus progress is achieved through the free exchange of ideas. Given that the majority of Filipinos currently share your views on Marriage equality, this serves as an informal platform to gain insight on things they normally wouldn't know or care to know

Good luck and God bless I suppose. If our forefathers never envisioned a Philippines free from Spanish control then things would have been utterly different. But they dared to dream, and here we are now.

Current norms and tradition derive much of their morals from the Bible and you will find stories in the Bible about whole civilizations burned to ashes because of homos3x.

A pedophile does not need to force his will unto a child. There are instances where the child is more than just a willing accomplice. But please don't say the child lacks legal capacity to decide for himself when a similar legal capacity is not afforded to your kind in marriage.

Up until the 1970s, medicine recognized homosexuality as a mental illness. But I don't know what went wrong since I wasn't born yet.

or would that be the law that says "Love your neighbor as yourself"

They have all the rights to ask the Law of the country to be changed But i dont think they have the Right to ask the Law/Belief of the Church to be changed.

The laws of the country is created BY and FOR the people. The Laws of the Church is absolute and created By GOD for the believers to follow.

The Problem is that Most of the people in Government are believers/followers of the Church Law.

in a marriage ceremony, part of it is asking God's blessing..even other religion's marriage ceremony, they ask for their God's blessing..
