Is there a law in the new testament against making statues? none.

well that's your OWN interpretation. FOR YOUR INFORMATION, the authenticity of authorship is questionable. Please read other books and not just the bible and pro-Christian books.

yes idolatry is sin but what is idolatry? did you ever ask a Catholic about it? nah, your too dependent sa imong Pastor.
Well you yourself are saying it indirectly, that you do not believe in the authenticity and authorship is questionable? and is that the reason why you have other basis for your faith and beliefs?

    KJV Dictionary Definition: idolatry
    idolatry
IDOL'ATRY, n. L. idololatria. Gr. idol, and to worship or serve.
    1. The worship of idols, images, or any thing made by hands, or which is not God.
Idolatry is of two kinds; the worship of images, statues, pictures, &c. made by hands; and the worship of the heavenly bodies, the sun, moon and stars, or of demons, angels, men and animals.
    2. Excessive attachment or veneration for any thing, or that which borders on adoration.
-This is the definition of idolatry. This clearly states that to worship or serve anything made by hand and not made by God is idolatry. Images, Statues are included. Now are your representations made by God or not?

This is where it is hard to draw the line, since somehow you compare what was the past and what is now, Cain had intercourse with her sister since there was no one else. And to draw the line and make the law, that is why God made the ten commandments and inspired people to write the Bible, to clearly make a guide on how we should live our lives and how we should worship Him. If you talk about incest, and if you truly believe that we are the descendants of Adam and Eve, somehow, all of us are relatives. Now that would make it a sin, marrying your cousin to the 100th degree, right? Seems absurd?

    Yes and no.

Yes, because circular reasoning is as annoying as the pious who purport them. And no, because debates like this serve as an intellectual choice to those who decide not to participate. We cannot just allow the religious to spread false information about the world. Not only is it intellectually degrading, but it is also insulting to the scientists who devote so much time in experimenting and observing how the universe works.

How did you know that the information being spread is false? And how can you say that it's insulting to the scientists? Are you a scientist? Why is it that there are scientists who still manage to keep their faith to spiritual entities?

Atheists, Agnostics, I suggest you set aside those side comments that don't have any bearing with the topic.

This thread is NEVER intended for a debate, but to answer the question regarding Catholic doctrines, practices.

Jesus died for our sins? God will one day come at judgment time? Life after death? Heaven and Hell? Purgatory? I could go on and on.

I prefer not to answer the latter. But the point is that, one doesn't need to be a scientist. It is also rather insulting to students of science, and to people who have a constant search for knowledge, to be presented with gibberish non-sense. How can we expect to gain knowledge of the universe from a book written by peoples of the ancient who have limited knowledge of ASTRONOMY and PHYSICS?

Why is it that there are scientists who still manage to keep their faith to spiritual entities?
    Honestly, this baffles me.
