there was no Jesus yet in the Old Testament. Why should they bow down to a snake? it's a snake for Christ's sake. Bow down to God. The statues are representations of God and Saints. And bowing down by the way is a gesture of respect.
before you ask, can you provide first any commandments from Jesus prohibiting his followers not to make any representations of him? if there is none, what's stopping you? no law no violation.take this example...Cain had *** w/ his sister ,was it a sin? no. why? there was no law yet at that time prohibiting them not to commit incest. Is there a law in the new testament against making statues? none.
well that's your OWN interpretation. FOR YOUR INFORMATION, the authenticity of authorship is questionable. Please read other books and not just the bible and pro-Christian books. The Bible was written by apostles and disciples of Jesus Christ to serve as a guide for people who believe in him. The ten commandments clearly states that idolatry is a sin, and that there shall be no other gods before him. God never commanded us to make rosaries and kiss an image of him when praying, did He?
yes idolatry is sin but what is idolatry? did you ever ask a Catholic about it? nah, your too dependent sa imong Pastor.
Again, another misconception.
Worship - has a very broad meaning.
Did you know naay mga courts sauna nga instead of "your Honor", they will address as "Your Worship"?
noun

- a church service or other rite showing this
- extreme devotion or intense love or admiration of any kind
- Chiefly Brit. a title of honor used in speaking to or of magistrates, mayors, or certain others holding high rank: preceded by Your or by His or Her.
Types of worship.

Veneration - may be lawfully directed to saints.
Worship - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Again, just a reminder this is not a Bible Debate thread.
As Catholic, our doctrine is NOT solely dependent with the Bible.
It is not craft by just the Bible alone.
Prior to the compilation of the Bible, the doctrine is already developing and was recorded by the early Church Fathers.
Believing that you can have the absolute truth of Christian Doctrine by just reading the Bible alone. Unsay nahitabo? Lumbaanay ug tukod ug simbahan.

There are Truths that are not explicit or cannot be declared conclusive if we only base from the Bible.
That is why it is better to confirm these teachings by digging up the writings of the Early Church Fathers.
Ako na neh gi-post sauna.
Example, the Divinity of Christ.
Naay uban groupo, tawo ra si Jesus, naa uban, God and man cya.
But still, they have the same sole source, the Bible alone.
So, gi-unsa man pag-declare sa Catholic Church about this doctrine? Through Councils, and also, based from the writtings of the Early Church Fathers. Wala neh sila mag-pakli2x ug Bibliya sauna, then nag-sige ug debate.
That is why better you review the history of the Church than just getting hooked up with your Bible.

You mentioned the word compile, So Catholic Church Did Not write the Bible but Compiled, right? meaning naa na ang mga sinuwat ni exist nah, wala pa lan na compile. because the books in the Bible are written by apostles di bah? so asa may nag una, ang mga sinuwat sa Biblia or ang Catholicism?
What? apostles?
Tell you what, the Pentateuch, is not even solely written by Moses.
On the Pentecost, the apostles are already preaching the Good News, and haven't wrote a thing, until the evangelists came. And at the time, there is already The Church. That is the Catholic Church today.
Didn't you know when the Book of Matthew was written? Around 100-140 AD. And it doesn't mean si Matthew nag-sulat ana.
Naay Gospel of Peter, pero wala maapil sa Bibliya. Mobasa ka ato?
Again, please read the History, and not just hooked up with your bible.

So kanang mga sinuwat nga naa sa Bibliya dili mga disipolo or apostle ni Kristo nagsulat ana? kinsa man diay?
So if the gospel of Mathew was written around 100-140 AD man kaha, so pwedi dili na mao ang sinuwat dha? so posibli nga sayop nang mga nasuwat sa bibliya diay ron?
Cos you said Your Church Just Compiled the writings - i mean the teachings Not the writings.
