BPO isn't just 'call center'. True, PH or Cebuanos has the advantage of fluency in english than Indians.
But if you'll look the BPO industry, call center is just a piece of it.
For instance in IT industry, there are many areas of outsourcing but these two are like the mainsteams: Software Engineering/Developement and Managed IT services (from helpdesk role to management of complex networks and enterprise solutions that are used by MNCs). The portion of what PH has gotten on these specific fields of IT is very little if you'll compare it to India.
Kung parteg eninglisay wla koy masulti sa Cebuanos... as in excellent gyud. How did we know this? We've been listening and evaluating calls for almost 3 years na and we can really compare the difference. Proud to be a Cebuano!!!
maybe for now call center pa ang daghan sa cebu, maayo unta managhan sad ng mga IT Services para kaming mga IT professional nga OFW manguli na sa cebu. daghan man engun ane sa BPO sa manila unya fyts kaayo ug suweldo puwede na dili mangabroad.
Congrats cebu...Just keep grounded...
Let's be careful to keep our heads to its normal size...
cebu... haven of BPO's & IT's

Mabuhi ka, Sugbuanon!
Wohooo!
Kani nga news ba sa Tholons, mao gyud ni ang gigamit sa amo company sa latest niya nga recruitment advertisement (internal - among the employees) for the company's referral program. Siga mata atong mga colleagues namo sa Manila.
Hehe.

kung gatuo mong dabest na ang pinas kay we are number one in call center business, don't dream too big.
we may have edged out india in this arena but outsourcing's not just about call centers. the fact is, indian companies are shifting voice-based operations to the philippines while back in india, they are shifting to more knowledge based operations like software development and other related operations. we can match india, PHL just has to diversify it's BPO industry to more knowledge based outsourcing.
