    I hated weekend homeworks, really.
Not that I didn't like homeworks. I like homeworks.........on weekdays. he he
It's because I've always believe that the weekends should be spent for myself, my family, friends, etc have fun with not having to think about school stuffs.

    Ngano karon pa man ni?

Point taken.. But, I don't think that should warrant a ban on weekend homeworks. Homework can be done during Friday nights or on Saturdays and that leaves Sunday open for family bonding.

Honestly, I don't think most of the students gets any work done on Saturdays as they prefer to spend it with their friends and barkadas (hopefully the good sort though). I'd say homework on the weekends will teach these kids how to prioritize things and also something about time management. If we get too relaxed with school at an early stage, how will our future generations be able to cope up with what lies ahead of them?

elementary and highschool education is the foundation.

children should be taught how to time manage and be responsible at an early age.

remember the saying about old trees being hard to bend.

the same thing is applicable to people...the older they get, the harder they are to train.

so why not start at a young age when the kids are like sponges, eager to learn anything and everything.

i busted my a** off in elementary doing homeworks and projects and joining extracurricular activities..

and i have no qualms busting my a** off in college..

and i certainly do not have qualms..working my a** off now.

there should be equal time for hardwork and play..

because life is not about playing, relaxing, and fun...

life can be disappointing as well.

homework..teaches children how to value time..manage time..and understand that as students..they also have responsibilities..and that at times they will need to sacrifice something in order to attain something way better.

child-parent bonding is not all about enjoyment, being carefree or free of tension.
there are many ways/situations where child-parent bonding can happen instantaneously.

sad events in the family is also a good opportunity to bond with your child.

It is interesting to note how some posts here actually looked at education/homework/school time
as a waste of time if done on weekends.
    so sad.

    Yup agree,
but the other four days I think is enough to nurture them as being responsible enough.
We should let them understand that they should relax sometimes, what will happen to them
later on if we would instill to their minds that it's only about profession, career, and work. We should also emphasize the importance of unwinding and much better if it is spent with family members. We are only humans, we have needs, normal and natural needs.

As a human trait, what would be the behavior of a person in tense situation, like thinking about what to answer, what to do, tired from work,
can we expect a good response?,
like when the child would ask, dad can you help me with my homework, then the father would answer, maybe tommorrow son I need some rest and sleep, then where is the bonding in that?.

Free time is what being needed for a proper and effective bonding, nowadays because of the exigency of the time because of economic challenges, the father or mother is always out there making money for the family, and the free day that they do have is only during weekends.
