excuse ra na bai. wa gani solusyon anang sa colon nga harapan manguot ug manulis...

@kent666, unsa man basis sa optional, if gahi ug ulo nga dili mabuak ug madisgrasya, pwede ra dili maghelmet?

@TS, since lahi man kaha ang dumaguete nya dili applicable ang helmet, unsa kahay maayo ato na lang ipaapil ang dumaguete sa india or other countries nga dili required maghelmet, so ili na mo parte sa Pilipinas kay lahi man kaha mo.

helmets can be cool... and fun!!!

by the way... I'm a graduate of silliman u. there are more bikes in dumaguete then
there are cars... and especially on the main streets in town traffic can be a slow
pace. which could be a reason for people there thinking safety helmets are an
    unnecessary evil.

but I have known a few people to have died there being hit by speeding vehicles
    at night.

remember I mentioned my friend who survived a head-on motorcycle crash but
his face was split? that was christopher misajon.

twenty one pages of response to my thread explain to me why people like mr. bong revilla get elected to the senate of this country.

twenty one pages of acidic replies, except for the few sensible ones, show that there is no need for a law for people to wear a helmet in fact.

    BUT,

i firmly emphasize that this thread is never about HELMETS, but about the HELMET LAW.

this is not about safety either. SAFETY IS A NON DEBATABLE ISSUE.

unsa may lisod ana sabton? pastilan...

this particular law curtails my personal freedom of choice. can you not see it people?

this law penalizes everyone who choose not to wear a helmet... 1500 PESOS, ngano man?

this law penalizes everyone who choose to wear sandals instead of shoes.... 1500 pesos, ngano man?

this law penalizes everyone who choose to wear shorts instead of long heavy protective pants... 1500 pesos, ngano man?

    NGANO MAG PUGSANAY MAN?

mamugos diay mo kung dili ganahan ang usa ka tawo sa inyo gusto?

those are the sentiments and issues in my thread...issues made into a law by revilla.

again...please ayaw lang mo pangaway nako kay dili man ko mosukol ninyo... word war man o real fighting war. i am a peace loving man, real dumaguetenos love peace not war.

ive never been so passionate and never hurt so bad....at the same time.

OT: those who enjoy berating me as Thread Starter, hurling insults like you were brought up with them, let me ask, what have i done to you?

Helmets are no guarantee to save lives.

Following the speed limit, no racing in public streets, no drunk driving, following traffic rules and road courtesy and generally using one's common sense will.
yes they are not guarantee to save lives, kailangan n ubanan ug road responsibility...
but between wearing a helmet and not wearing a helmet, I'd wear one...

boss, balaod man na, i think maong nahiubos jud ka pag ayo kay on the first place wa man kay plano musonod cguro anig nga law.. cge ka pangutana ug reason why kinhanglan mu byad ug 1500 for every violation, part man na siya sa implentation ug enforcement ani nga law. kung mutuman ka sa law "which is the right thing to do", dli ka ma worry oi, bsan pag 3,000 o 5,000 pa nang multa. again you said this not about the helmet, nara man diay na. kung you value safety, im sure makasabot ka nga an pag wear sa helmet ug uban pang precautionary life saving gears importante kaayo, ug kung nakasabot ka ana, dli nka mo question sa 1500 nga bayd kung ma violate ni nmu kay nka sabot naman ka sa iyang purpose. just my 2 cents sir. peace =)
